Interesting now that Mr. Peterson has won the election the dissenters are complaining about unnamed sources which they seemed to use frequently during the election. I think I remember a few of them quoted when Paul had his altercation with Hal, providing a skewed version of that event. Who won that fight by the way?
Another interesting tidbit, I seem to remember hearing once that "Jane Doe" went to work in the Mendocino County DA's Office after her short lived career here in Contra Costa County. Interesting choice of employees they hire. I guess their excess insurance carrier must be quite good.
I have worked with Paul, no doubt he is an excellent trial attorney. I'm not sure how he managed to lose his way in such remarkable fashion, but it's positive he is gone. His departure is one less roadblock for the new DA to bring back some order and restore honor to an agency left torn and divided by the last administration.
And as a follow question, how does the ad constitute a smear video. What specifically is untruthful about the ad? What facts are incorrect? Just because it is true but you don't like what it says doesn't make it a smear campaign. Sometimes the truth hurts.
The position of DA is non-partisan. Both candidates have support from both sides of the political arena. And if O'Malley used his friendship with top officials at the DA's office to cut a deal for a sex offender and convicted felon to gain ammunition against his opponent is news. And the public has the right to know. We need to know the level of integrity the candidates have and the Roy Gordon issue speaks to that.
That argument makes zero sense considering that O'Malley is best friends with the top three officials at the DA's office. If the office needs to be changed, then why can't they do it now, or why haven't they already done it. The problem with the office starts with it's current leadership, Kochly, Brian B and Paul S. Are you suggesting O'Malley would remove them, cause I think they would want their money back. It would be impossible for Dan to change that office because he is friends with the current admin.
Also, Dan works in a three lawyer law firms and they are all managing partners. He is a defense attorney. Let's just call him what he is.
I am always confused when I hear talk about Dan O'Malley wanting to clean up the office. All of his best friends are in high ranking positions there. So if he isn't going to hold them accountable, then who is he talking about. Must be the deputies who didn't contribute to his campaign or attend his parties. The current DA and his two top ranking deputies have given Dan thousands of dollars. Now why is that. I suspect because they know if by some miracle Dan is elected, they guys are safe. If the office is so bad that Dan needs to clean it up, then he needs to mke a public statement the current administration is out and let's see how fast these guys ask for their money back. So if Dan has clean up plans, let's hear specific names of people he will be demoting when he gets there. Don't hold your breath.
I agree, it is time for a change, and that person is Mark Peterson. He has 25 years under his belt prosecuting criminals and didn't jump ship to leave the DA's office to be a high paid criminal defense attorney. Plain and simple, Mark wants people like Roy Gordon in jail, Dan O'Malley wants him out to wander the streets, commiting more crimes.
