Tim, it's nice of you to stick up for your wife, Donnna. However, neither of you will answer my questions: what are Bad Rap's euthanazia stats working with OAS and why can't Donna get Alice herself? As for who I am, that's my business, I don't need you and your wife attacking me. Also, I've been rescuing animals for over a decade and have found homes for thousands of animals - how many animals have you saved?
Donna, why can't you go to the shelter and pick up the dog you have been pressured into taking? It is very nice of you to take the pup, I am sure you will use it as a propaganda tool to slam animal control. You stated you left OAS so why are you taking the dog after you slammed them against the wall. You are a very confusing person. Please start thinking about the animals and not your ego.
Marye, do you have any idea how much money is needed to run a shelter? Do you have any idea the costs involved? Yes, the taxpayers are paying but did it ever occur to you that maybe they are on a tight budget? Most shelters do not provide Kongs or toys for the dogs or playtime for the cats. Wow....How many dogs have you walked at OAS, How many animals have you helped to get adopted?
I still want to see BADRAP stats when they were assisting OAS. They make claims against OAS and I want to see what is the difference in adoptions and how many dogs did BR euthanize.
Huh? The blog is 2009 and it is July 2010. As an OASvolunteer stated, what are we doing to help OAS to reduce their numbers? They are in a bad section with open intake ( they cannot turn away animals to lower their euthanzia numbers).....So, if the shelter is full with open intake animals what is OAS suppose to do? Exactly how many pit bulls did BR take from OAS, what is their placement % of the dogs, and how many were euthanized? If BR was partners with OAS, I would like to see the stats.
Marye, it does speak volumes that Bad Rap abandoned a shelter in need. I often wonder why BR left or were they asked to leave because they could not check their egos at the door and work with the animals. Clean cages, interact with all breeds of dogs, poop scoop the cat spaces, and learn proper human interaction skills.
I personally very tired of ready the falsehoods in their blogs, trying to capitalize on the Big MO Bust when they had absolutely nothing to do with it, and carrying on about dogs in barrels. Did I miss something in Donna's barrel rantings.....to keep animals out of barrels you need to have a spay/neuter program in place. You need to get dirty and go into the areas of need and talk to people, offer to pick up their animals and return them after they are fixed. This will help to stop the cycle of abuse, overpopulation, and relieve the stress on OAS intake. Instead BR has choosen to attack a shelter in need. Nice, real nice.
