I ride a bike, slowly, and I'm planning to buy a very slow bike, indeed. Elmira Gulch eat your heart out!

Amazon can get stuffed. They're trying to outrage their affiliates, who made a few dollars with referring links, in order to avoid paying their fair share of sales taxes; the state is freaking failing, and they're using the paltry income of amateur sellers as a leverage point to save their major corporation millions. F U Amazon, seriously.
Okay, so is the amazing spike in peoples electric bills due to their meter acting as a relay all day, pulsing hundreds of times? They can dismiss the amount of power used as "minimal" but are we charged for it? If we're charged for it, I want a report like I have for my wireless phone detailing the number of pulses and the effect on my bill! I text and it seems like "oh it's just now and then" but they add up, and I don't trust PG&E with their "Minimize Everything" mantra - are we paying to broadcast everyone else's billing information? If so I want to go back to supporting the USPS!
I wonder how closely the numbers correspond with the proportions of renters vs. owners in the voting district. Owners are probably sick of being taxed for "the good of the community" and supporting anything the majority wants to bill them for. I know that overall schools are good for everyone, but renters pay NOTHING toward services that they no doubt use - there needs to be some way to ensure renters pay their share of upkeep for their community, too.
They can use mac, they can't use *adjective opposite of big* mac - that's what sets off the warning bells for McDonalds. Little Mac invokes Big Mac, I can see McDonald's problem even if the big co would eventually lose in court, and I can see that this fight would destroy the small business owners even if they won. But I can't see why they wouldn't use mac at all; hell, call the place Mac-n-Cheese and McDonald's can't touch them.
They take 100% of our cans and bottles, leaving only the cardboard and scrap paper. The "guesstimates" they're operating on are WAY under, and I wonder if they're doing that deliberately to protect their sanity and prevent our rage. They system would probably be closer to self-supporting if they actually received the more valuable recyclables. If they itemize the charge I will refuse to pay it and all my crap will go in One Single Bin.
