Re: “A Troubled Rape Case

Contra Costa County is corrupt period. The DA often works in tandem with Sheriff Warren Rupf (ala Jaycee Dugard bungling 3 times), judges (Judge Barbara Zuniga who is a buddy of Michael Cardoza), Coroners (contracted to Forensic Medical ala Brian Peterson who is corrupt and incapable), the Public Defenders Office (ala throwing cases and past inept attorney like I think I will suddenly turn Goth Elen Leonida), etc. to make cases turn out however they want. I'm sure Gressett has done a bit of this himself as well as Thomas McKenna. This case is not about politics per se, although that is divisive also. Contra Costa County has tooooooo much misconduct and such going on and has for a long time. All of these officials and offices need external investigation - and, yeah, maybe from the FBI and not the CA Attorney General's Office.

Re: “A Troubled Rape Case

By the way thank you to the author, John Geluardi. I don't know if this is the only sides of this story, but I do appreciate such an in depth article.

Re: “A Troubled Rape Case

Oh, please, whoever is citing all the false rape allegations - what's the point right now. It sounds like YOU are trying to prove this woman lied before it ever gets to court.

Re: “A Troubled Rape Case

Good grief.... this isn't so much about a rape case any more than it's about the utter corruption and misconduct in Contra Costa County on the part of DA's, judges, the Sheriff's Office, and various other agencies and civil servants. That's right, you people are supposed to be civil servants. And, lawyers shouldn't get a pass on ethics. This is going to be blasted all over primetime TV by Michael Cardoza and his buddies in order to tell his client's side of the story. At least they don't have to sensationalize this one, it's already there.

The entire County needs to be fully investigated on all levels, an independent/external investigation. It's not about which side is right or wrong - they both stink to high heaven!!! All this on the back of the Contra Costa Sheriff Department's inexcusable behavior in the Phillip Garrido case. While we're at it, who was the DA who dropped child molestation charges against the then Antioch Fire Chief Duane Shoemake and his wife? That goes really well with the vile DDA Hal Jewett who has even tried to claim a 6 year old was guilty of premeditated murder and should be tried as an adult. What is wrong with all of you. You all intend on investigating yourselves, of course you do.

Re: “Conservative Legal Firm Targets Bay Area

It's ridiculous to try to bring ACORN into this article.

Re: “Conservative Legal Firm Targets Bay Area

Why are so many lawyers, etc. in t he Bay Area now invoking Hitler or anti-Semitism in their arguments when they promote hate and oppression themselves? I'm reminded of Daniel Horowitz representing Michael Savage and his involvement in CA SB399 of late also. I find this very weird.
