Re: “I am Annoyed and Disappointed”
I worked there for a total of four days, being trained as a host. The shifts ran from noon - 10pm with a two hour break in the middle. Sure, it was only 8 hours of actual work, but the structure of it completely devoured my day.
In a clearing session, I spoke with a manager about how this wasn't working for me. I asked if there was a different position I could train for that would have different hours. She looked at me with vacant eyes and told me I needed to "work past your own needs and think of the One of Cafe Gratitude."
That was amazingly offensive. It didn't make me feel enlightened or that I had more power in my life. It made me never want to go back.
