Re: “Labor Leaders, Have You Lost Your Damn Mind?”
wow, you people are pretty perverse. none of what is written above is factual. But more disturbingly, none of it has any class politics worth a dime. The whole reason the majority of long term care members have signed petitions to leave SEIU is because they have in fact been engaged in contract campaigns all of last year-- a master contract that Tyrone refused to be a part of, that has resulted in better wages and benefits, and more organizing agreements than the alliance. Seems when the union fights the boss, and then Andy comes in and threatens to take the unioin away and get cozy with the boss, workers dont go along like sheep. Sal Rosselli didnt collect signatures for 100,000 workers to petition to leave, shop stewards did. I dont think that many workers are wrong, or in love with Sal. But you and Jay Youngdahl appear to be rather enamored with Andy, again who fucking cares about Andy and is heterodox cavorting with liberals! That is not what we need in charge of a labor movement. Your article has no facts about who is being turned in to management for legal petition gathering (SEIU-- the bosses best ally in union busting), who is "witnessing" made up violations in order to fire shop stewards with clean records. What kind of a union does such things? One that is losing, has crappy corrupt staff, and cant be bothered to win on merits, so must play dirty. You cant even get the name of NUHW correct-- when it is on the damn website for god's sake.
