Re: “Dairy-Free Decadence

Regarding Cornrefiner's advice above to check out Sweetsuprise.com, there are a few things you might want to keep in mind. SweetSurprise.com appears to be just another revolting project of RIchard Berman's DC-based pro-industry PR machine, Berman & Company. Setting up numerous front groups to do the bidding of his corporate clients, Berman is the mastermind behind some of the ugliest and most misleading big business PR and lobbying campaigns today. His clients include the fast food, tobacco, and alcohol industries among others. His career highlights include using his American Beverage Institute to smear Mothers Against Drunk Driving in order to oppose drunk driving laws and DUI checkpoints, fighting minimum wage increases through his Employment Policies Institute, union-bashing through his Center for Union Facts and TeachersUnionExposed.com, setting up SunlightScam.com to counter the "myth" that tanning beds might cause cancer, and targeting community organizers through his RottenAcorn.com. Perhaps the most offensive of his campaigns is the Berman & Company front group, the Center For Consumer Freedom (CCF). Considered "the primary propaganda arm for the food and dairy industries," CCF campaigns attack smoking bans, drunk driving laws, the "myth" of obesity, and the Center for Science in the Public Interest. CCF's most vicious attacks are against the animal protection movement, which makes it somewhat ironic to see a friendly comment from a Berman group on an article about vegan food.

Instead of following Cornrefiner's advice, I'd suggest checking out BermanExposed.org for more info.

That said, great article Cassie! Pepple's Donuts are the best!
