This is nothing new. Ripoff Report (a supposed consumer advocate website) has been extorting business and regular folks alike to "alter" negative information. People have been screaming about it for an equal amount of time, yet nothing happens (Google Ripoff Report to see for yourself). Yelp's $299 per month is mere chump change compared to Ripoff Report's fees which according to Phoenix New Times article go clear up to $50,000 in addition to a monthly monitoring fee.
