Re: “Hermosa Hair Salon

Same for me. I followed Julie here too. She's the best! And yeah, no pretentious hipster vibe, but often some cool art.

Re: “Lake Merritt Mural Artist Sues Over Work's Destruction

Good. Hope the Key Route artist does the same for his illegally destroyed art. Is there a gofundme for Dan's and other artists' legal expenses on this?

Re: “A Burger for the End of Civilization

I'm with Mr. Price. Shame on the Express for pandering to this vandal. There are plenty of burgers available from people who respect the neighborhood. When he puts the mural back, it might be worth considering his wares. As long as the mural is gone, that's all we need to know about his establishment.

Re: “Alameda Mayor In Hot Water Over Racially Insensitive Comments

It seems a bit lede-burying to wait for paragraph 10 to note in passing that the complainer is Rob Bonta's mother.

More power to them. Wishing them every success in giving these young women the skills they need to take control of their own lives.

Re: “The Apu Trilogy: Rich and Unforgettable

OMG! Thanks so much for the heads up. Haven't seen this since maybe 1968.

Re: “City Slicker Farms and the Perks of Being a Landowner

Mr. Raphael, I do not believe anyone in this discussion is asserting that urban farms (especially those with the basic maturity and respect to buy their land instead of squatting or extorting it) are a substitute for good schools. good jobs, and good homes. What they are is an incremental bit of a paradigm shift that makes the aforementioned schools, jobs, and homes more likely.
