Re: “New: Oakland Fires Yet Another Police Chief (Third in a Week!)

Maybe the police need to actually abide by the law and quit acting like criminals. Sex on the job, sex with minors, sex in exchange for police protection, these are crimes and those responsible are finally being held accountable.

Re: “Deadly Oakland Fire Ignites Tenant-Landlord Dispute

This is not the Kim I know. I sure hope this story isn't correct. Kim has done extremely well in the real estate business. He and his wife are top producers at Coldwell Banker and he owns extensive properties all over the area. I've always considered him an ethical person who does the right thing... I certainly hope he continues to earn and deserve such trust.

Re: “Why It’s Ridiculous that Ignacio De La Fuente Won’t Concede Defeat

What a love election season we've had. I never enjoyed this as much as I have this year. We didn't win everything, no one ever does, but we've won so much to be proud and happy about. ... oh and if you don't love America today, there's always Somalia.

Re: “Deanna Santana Tried to Alter Damning Report

Deanna Santana deliberately prohibited Oakland's Homeless Services to do outreach at Occupy Oakland, knowing that not serving this vulnerable segment of our culture would lead to some mentally-ill person acting out and thus allow the police riot (and multi-million dollar budget hit) she wanted as a result. She is evil and must be forced out of any position of authority everywhere and anywhere in America.

Re: “Berkeley Official Admits to Lawbreaking

Her home? So Nicole Drake, Linda Maio's City Council Aide and a Rent Board Commissioner, lives there? Gosh, that makes this her problem, too. I know she gets her mail there (no, I didn't go through her mail.) It sure seems to me that the lack of ethics, the violation of the public trust by our 'official' representatives runs deep in Berkeley, a culture of corruption one might say. By the by, the issue isn't just fines, converting a garage into a living space is simply not allowed without use permits, zoning permits, public hearings, building permits, etc. In most cases it's simply not allowed. Building on the property line is extremely difficult if not impossible to do and requires meeting very specific building and zoning standards. Where's the 'off-street parking' for this extra unit? Have the sewer lines, electric lines, water lines been inspected? The list of requirements the average citizen would be required to meet makes this sort of development impossible, which is why Ryan didn't bother to go through the permit process. Ryan is a ZAB commissioner, he knows. Nicole is a Rent Board officer, she knows. They both are city council aides, these are issues they deal with daily. He and Nicole should resign from all positions they hold in city government. signed 'Crazy' Fred Dodsworth.

Re: “Berkeley's Downtown Plan Appears Headed for Ballot

Robert Gammon is such a crappy journalist I'm frankly worried about the financial viability of a newspaper that publishes his opinion pieces, aka news stories.

Re: “Berkeley Women Thronged by Male Mobs, Groped

This incident is typical of what our country (including Berkeley) now represents -- torture, war without end, authoritarianism, facism, gross economic disparity, gross disparity in public services such as health care and education.
There is a direct link between the inhumane way America behaves in the world and the inhumanity we, here in America, inflict on each other. If you want peace, you must work for justice.
