Re: “Wealthy Lefties Open Wallets for Green Party candidate Aimee Allison

Given the timing those pieces must have been in the mail already before the deal was struck. I heard Allison at an event this weekend saying that she denounced anyone who attacked - and that she had personally called anyone making IE's that she knew about to say she didn't support attacks and negative mailers. Pat is probably mad because she knows how Shirley Gee and David Kakishiba felt when she did her attack piece (at least this is on the issues - Pat's hit pieces were totally personal)

Could these mailers have been stopped? It seems like they must have been at the mailhouse even before the deal was struck? Also - much like Kernighan's situation - Allison is not able to coordinate or stop these mailers.

Re: “Business Group Says It Won't Buy Oakland Election, After All

Pamela Drake has corrected her column, noting that the Allison campaign was not behind the push poll - and couldn't afford it if she wanted to. She doesn't support it, and said publicly she hopes whoever is behind it stops. Pat is accepting PILES of soft money - just not the remaining tens of thousands from OakPAC (that's what the agreement meant).

Re: “Business Group Says It Won't Buy Oakland Election, After All

The issue was never IE's - it was unlimited IE's and the effort of OakPAC to step outside the rules and try and change them at the last minute. Allison pushed Dellums to ensure that the Oakland Campaign Finance Reform Act is upheld (which Pat said she agreed with) and he did, which is great.

Re: “Election 2006: Green Party Candidate Selling Her-Gasp-SUV!

agreed - what does her opponent drive? and she really IS trying to sell the car - they've placed ads, all that. the headline makes it seem otherwise.
