North Korean terrorists invade the White House but rogue Secret Service agent Gerard Butler is up to the task of stopping them. Cheap-looking CGI destruction follows, and a nifty cast of actors – Morgan Freeman, Aaron Eckhart, Melissa Leo, Ashley Judd, and Angela Bassett – plays second fiddle to the hand-to-hand combat. Action specialist director Antoine Fuqua adds very little to the literature of Secret Service adventures except to put North Koreans at the top of the bad-guy list. More fun to talk about than to watch. Screenplay by Creighton Rothenberger and Katrin Benedikt. (120 min.)
