The winery was started as three acres of vineyard planted by Henry Ellis, who served as San Francisco's chief of police and as a U.S. consul to the Turks islands, on his Sunol estate in 1890. The winery produces Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, and a blend of all three called "Danse de Blanc," in addition to Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Claret, Cabernet Sauvignon.
