Chouinard Vineyards in Castro Valley produces Alicante Bouschet, Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, White Riesling; two sweet wines, Orange Muscat and Viognier; and a 100 percent Granny Smith apple wine. Grapes are grown in Paso Robles, Lodi, Monterey County, Livermore Valley, Mendocino, and from the property itself, which has 2.5 acres cultivating Chardonnay and 2.5 acres more of Cabernet Sauvignon.

Westover Winery makes 1,000-2,000 cases of wine per year in Castro Valley. Most of the varietals it works with — Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot, Petite Verdoh, Petite Sirah, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon — are grown locally. It also produces a large selection of dessert wines: Sherry, Muscat, and a number of flavored ports.
