If salsa dancing is your thing, then Club Montero's is your nightclub. The Albany dance club, voted Best Latin Dance Club in the Express in 2004, features salsa lessons every Friday and Saturday, with live bands on Friday to put your skills to work. Do an underarm turn or take a dip on the huge wooden dance floor underneath a giant palm tree. If you need to take a breather, order a drink at the cabana-style bar or grab a bite to eat at Montero's Cafe next door. The cover charge is $15 on Friday, and $10 on Saturday, and the dress code requires semicasual to evening attire. No sportswear or tennis shoes allowed. Eighteen and over.
Full-service dog center, with offerings including walking, boarding, sitting, training, and grooming.
Situated in downtown Walnut Creek, Red House Live offers a revolutionary new music experience: a state-of-the-art, all-in-one facility to buy gear, rehearse, take lessons, jam, record, perform, and network. Though its designed for all levels of musicians, Red House Live definitely appeals to the young, aspiring musician -- and looks wholly legitimate to their parents, too. Most live shows (mostly rock bands) happen on Saturday nights, start at 7:30 p.m., cost $10, and are open to all ages. The room is small, but the fancy sound and light system make up for it.
