Live music every night starting around 8 p.m. (Sunday starting at 4 p.m.). Mostly local musicians, from blues to surf to acoustic to bluegrass to eighteen-piece bands. Open-mic night every Monday. No cover. Beer and wine with twelve drafts; local beers and imported; extensive Belgium bottled beer selection. An upscale kitchen serves California lunch and appetizers.

It might sound odd to hear that Golden Tea Garden offers a selection of straw paper hats to wear, but after spending some at this Hayward cafe, you realize it's all part of their lavish attention to detail. The eponymous garden features a lush fountain, beautiful white iron chairs and tables, and a flower mural that enchants without distracting. With more than three hundred different teas to choose from, and delicious cakes like Red Velvet and Champagne to accompany, the Golden Tea Garden offers the perfect respite from the chaotic, overgrown field of life. No wi-fi, but that shouldn't matter, with everything else to catch your attention.
