This neighborhood sports bar and restaurant dates back to the early-20th century, but has been the Connecticut Yankee since 1989. Located on the corner of Connecticut and 17th streets in Potrero Hill, it hosts live blues and funky jam bands about three or four nights a week. It has a dark, woody feel, perfect for seeking refuge on days when dreary fog blankets the city. A sports-lover's paradise, the bar has large-screen TVs, and serves brunch, lunch, and dinner.
This Walnut Creek bar offers satellite TV (seventeen screens total), Monday night football, Saturday college games, Sunday pro games, two pool tables, karaoke Tuesday and Wednesday, and dancing Thursday through Saturday. A full kitchen serves up American fare for lunch, dinner, and weekend breakfasts.
Watch the game here on one of 21 high-definition plasma-screen TVs, and choose from an even greater number of beers on tap. Evening entertainment occasionally includes comedy, but this is definitely a sports bar. The menu has traditional pub grub like fish and chips or bangers and mash, and less traditional fare like chicken tikka masala and Thai yellow tofu. During football season, the Englander opens early on Sundays for the NFL breakfast. Enjoy your food and drinks inside or on the patio.
The sports bar comes equipped with a handful of flatscreen TVs throughout its interior, bolstered by a domestic and imported beer selection and the usual bar food fare like a meat lovers' pizza and chicken wings.
The laid-back bar and grill, which has been around since 1977, is a go-to place to watch sports, eat Sunday brunch, and have a drink (it's rumored that after a few visits the bartender will have your drink poured before you've even taken a seat at the bar).
In 2005, Ricky's was ranked the number two sports bar in the country by Sports Illustrated. It's living up to that reputation today by offering all the sporting television packages so sports fans don't have to miss any game. There are numerous televisions throughout the bar showing any game you want; from UFC to PGA. Be sure to check out their food menu.
Scobie's offers all the major sports packages on twelve different screens. A strong sports bar, it also offers a breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu. There is karaoke on Wednesday nights as well as a DJ that performs on Thursdays and Saturdays. Customers can also grab a beer or a cocktail on the outside patio if weather permits.
