Crosby's country-club cuisine is better than it needs to be, with some dishes grand enough to stand up to the monumentally nostalgic surroundings. The bar is a roiling meat market for the over-forty and the overly tanned, but it's worth wading in for the excellent martinis.
The mantra is simple food done very well. Nearly everything, from the dressings to the desserts and the soups to the sauces, is made in-house. Café Aquarius serves locally roasted shade grown coffee as well as beer and wine. Come for breakfast, lunch, weekend brunch, or just for a cup of joe. This is a great place to try out a selection of wines without overindulging. Mix and match red, white, and sparking wines in flights, and don't be surprised if you meet owner Chris O'Meally while dining at Casa Vino. They like to mingle with the customers, and chances are they'll teach you a thing or two. The menu includes Italian standby dishes and American favorites.
