This recently renovated arts complex features the 203-seat Buriel Clay Theatre, the Sargent Johnson Gallery for Black visual culture, meeting spaces, dance studios, archives of African American history, a recording studio and a multi-use space available for rent. Located in the heart of the historic Western Addition, the complex celebrates Afro-centric artistic and cultural performance exhibition and programming, focusing specifically on African American artists from the area. Youth classes are offered in hip-hop dance, audio engineering, and animation, among other things.
