The 25-year-old comedy club in North Beach offers 400 seats along with a full menu and full bar. Many well-known comedians come through the stage at Cobb's; from Patton Oswalt to Norm McDonald and Pablo Francisco. There is usually a two-drink minimum. However, it's rarely enforced. Most acts are eighteen and over.

The West Oakland establishment is steeped in history. Decades back, Motown greats from B.B. King to Marvin Gaye passed through its doors. Though it's still decorated with old show fliers and other relics that serve as a testament to its roots, the club has been undergoing upgrades: new carpeting, free Sunday night comedy shows (one-drink minimum), Monday night jam sessions, daily drink specials, and more.

Perched atop a downtown parking garage, the Punchline showcases local and touring stand-up comedy acts in a small setting, with a two-drink minimum per show. No open mics, though the venue features local comics every Sunday. Shows happen at 8 p.m. every night, with additional shows at 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. A full bar and dinner menu is also available; private parties are welcome. Eighteen and up.
