Jinho "The Piper" Ferreira, a rapper with Flipsyde, actor, award winning screenwriter, and law enforcement officer has penned a brilliant play, directed by Ami Zins and Lew Levinson.

Cops & Robbers is a political Rochambeau, told in Rashomon style and a Riveting tour de force performance! Piper flawlessly plays all 16 characters weaving together the stories behind the crimes in our community, the way law enforcement reacts and the way the media spins the news. This is a play for anyone who wants to improve the quality of life in the community, anyone who is interested in a solution rather than in just winning the debate.

“Seeing Cops & Robbers will definitely motivate people to take action in their communities.” Hodari Davis, National Director of Youth Speaks

Sponsored by Rotary Club of Oakland - Bringing Oakland's youth to transformational theater!

A panel discussion will follow both matinees.

The Medea Hypothesis: A Reconfiguration

Directed by Gary Graves

Sun at 5pm
Berkeley City Club
2315 Durant Ave. (map)
Berkeley-Downtown

A world premiere from the Central Works Writers Workshop!
Local playwright Marian Berges takes the time-honored Greek myth about a wronged woman with a score to settle, and reconfigures it into the story of a modern jet-setting "execu-diva" in a fractured world of absurdity. A quirky cultural critique with a wicked sense of humor.

Featuring Cory Censoprano, Dakota Fry, Joe Estlack, and Jan Zvaifler. Directed by Gary Graves, costumes by Tammy Berlin, video by Pauline Luppert, sound by Gregory Scharpen & stage management by Alandra Hileman.
