At the Thanksgiving Camp, children will explore how animation works and what creates the illusion of movement in motion pictures by making several of the devices that were the precursors to modern movies and television. In addition to building fun gadgets every day, participants will make creative art projects, play outdoors, and watch science movies.

Badarikashrama, a spiritual and cultural center in San Leandro will be offering a free vegetarian Thanksgiving dinner and concert. Pandit Laksmi Ganesh Tewari, a Hindustani vocalist and retired professor of music at Sanoma State University, will offer an anticipated performance, accompanied by Ravi Gutala on tabla and Vivek Datar on Harmonium. Following the concert will be an international vegetarian dinner.
More than thirty artisans, local merchants, musicians, and chefs will be at the African Diaspora Bazaar and Crafts Fair.
