The older women who put on Dirty Old Women — an erotic storytelling series featuring performers from the titular demographic — have a few good reasons why you should hear their tales. First of all, they’ve had a lot of time to have a lot of sex. They are no rookies. Plus, they’re too jaded to feel awkward talking about sex, so they’re happy to share their wisdom. They can tell younger audiences what sex was like back in their day, before condom usage was a norm — and also provide reassurance that your sex life isn’t over by the time you turn fifty. Whether those reasons are convincing or not, the event will surely showcase some enticing perspectives that aren’t often given the stage time. Dirty Old Women happens on the fourth Tuesday of each month, and the next edition will take place at the recently opened Octopus Literary Salon (2101 Webster St., Oakland) on April 28. This one will feature Susan Kuchinskas, the author of The Chemistry of Connection and the forthcoming memoir My Life in Sex, and musician and writer Jessie West. An open mic begins at 7:40 p.m. Readings start at 8 p.m.
