Raymond's show at Panorama, nice short writeup in the EBX!
The Studio's actual grand opening is Sept 13th! However, we will be chillin' in the studio this Friday night. So feel free to stop by! We have quite a bit a work up from various bay area artists on display right now. Plus we have a huge ROBOT, "Friendly Lord Zondar". You can see some of the work on display here: https://www.facebook.com/Studio23Alameda
Their new website is http://www.buildingeducator.com
This is my favourite place. The ambience, bar, the freshest ingredients to create my "inner Pizza" and the very acceptable pricing.
Their beers, and cocktails are crafted by the best bar staff in the area and the restaurant brings in families, academics, students, lovers and friends. I highly recommend BUILD.
This is an excellent bookstore. Jean and Daryl are very knowledgeable and helpful. I always find something at Bibliomania. Jean knows what I read and will e-mail me or tell me when we cross paths in the neighborhood about a book that might interest me. Bibliomania is conveniently located a block from the 19th Street BART station on Broadway, and there is plenty to do in the neighborhood, including the Fox Theater, Rudy's Can't Fail Cafe, and Fox Square Park. I highly recommend Bibliomania.
Location for this event is: Courtyard Marriott Downtown Oakland-
988 Broadway Oakland
Smoke Berkeley is really good. My favorite is the pulled pork sandwich with spicy vinagre sauce, with corn bread. And the pies are dreamy!
Although I only made it to half of the show, this was an amazing experience. The band was very skilled and in tune with each other, and provided a great atmosphere. I attended the concert to get content for a school paper, and I took notes for the majority of the performance; this did not alter the fact that I still noticed it was a wonderful show, the crowd was deeply into the music, and it was easy to get into the vibe and be a part of it all.
East Bay Spice Co. is charting a new frontier in the Bay Area's culinary cocktail scene. You'd need a constellation of stars to do it justice.
One must try: Ornament of the World. It's unlike anything else.
12 out of 10.
Deepak, Quilty, and the Blind Tiger dudes are sensory pioneers; prepare yourselves!
Mr. Varlack is setting the standard for teaching and healing. I went in to try acupuncture and ended up learning so much about my body and health.
paco collars are the best collars I have seen, they will customise whatever you want, they are well made and long lasting, paco collars was a dream to work with. I look forward to ordering more stuff from them. I want new leashes and a belt to match my dogs collar.
Love their Friday Blue Plate Special: Two Wild Sprimp Tacos with Cabbage Slaw and Chipotle Cream!
We LOVE Eli's...Great people that work there, cool people that go there. And TWAT wiill be playing there on 6/21/13. Why they (EBE) never put our ads up is a mystery....
My favorite roasted chicken in the east bay, and the Aji Amarillo sauce rocks!

The matinee performances will be followed by an audience discussion with Piper and representatives from local violence prevention programs. These may be some of the most vital conversations the Oakland community will have about violence in our city, precisely because of the presence and voices of elders and young adults in the house.
For mature audiences only! Minimum recommended age 14 due to strong language and honest content.
