Re: “Berkeley Bowl

Not best cheese prices, but definitely best cheeses.

Re: “Berkeley Farmers' Market

The new location rocks! And it's located in more of a food desert.

Re: “Oasis Food Market

I know it is more of a grocery store, but they also have an awesome sit down section and take out menu.

Re: “The Wine Mine

I say that all the time! Everytime someone tries to hit off my bottle, I scream, "Hey, hey, hey! The wine mine!"

Re: “The Wine Mine

I LOVE the Wine Mine! Plenty of interesting, tasty wines and friendly, knowledgeable advice for picking the right ones for my preferences. I've gotten so many spectacular reds for embarrassingly low prices--that means more bottles brought home. The $1 Saturday tastings are a fun way to explore new wines and run into like-minded people and banter using our meager or prodigious oenophile talents. You're a fool if you aren't buying your wine here!

Re: “The Wine Mine

LOVE the Wine Mine! Fun on Saturdays and great selection. David and staff are so helpful, not only will they help you pick the wine, but I'd bet they could recommend the food to go with it and tell you how to make it!

Re: “The Wine Mine

Best place to buy wine - Best place to taste wine - Best place to get advice.
David and his crew are making wine shopping fun.

Re: “Rosenblum Cellars

I second the previous reviewer. It was a great place, even a five star place. Staff was great, it was always great to drop by.
Now you get a meager 4 tastings for the money. If they have wine on sale, that does not mean it is for taste (what sense does that make?), no deviation from the tastting menu anymore. Most wine got mediocre. I am no longer a member and won't buy there anymore.

Re: “Rosenblum Cellars

In the past, I would've given Rosenblum 4 stars. However, they were sold about 2 years ago to a large Napa owned company & the wines haven't been the same since! My friends & I have been coming to Rosenblum for over 7 years. We watched the open house Parties go from medium to overcrowded in 4 years (before sale). Once the new owners took over, the Open House events went up by about $10, most of the wines are bitter & very dry (even reds) & there's less food served. We went from buying cases@these events to buying a couple of bottles. That says a lot for the 30-early 40 crowd!

Re: “Dashe Cellars

First time i had this wine was @ Alamo Square Restaurant in SF 5 years ago. It was very good! 2 years ago, went tasting @ their location in Oakland & had a very good time! Their wines are very good & have surpassed Rosenblum in quality. I would highly recommend this local winery!
