Re: “Fundraiser for Saxophonist M.B. Hanif

MB Hanif
Alto Saxophonist, Composer, Innovator

MB Hanif suffered a stroke while performing on stage during the month of June. He is making great progress towards a full recovery. However, there is a difficult road ahead for him to gain control of his speech and complete movement of his body. All are invited to come out to enjoy the music and fellowship with Brother Hanif and his family.

Re: “RALLY & MARCH to the Chevron Refinery In Richmond this Saturday!

This is the frontline of the future of our planet. IF there is ONE EVENT to support the Climate Movement that you do this summer, this is IT. Even Bill McKibben, respected leader of and the climate movement will be there (and Speaking in SF in support Friday night - see…). Spread the word, and we'll see you there with over 60 groups participating.

You know the Emeryville Tower store was also just down Shellmound Street from where Hot Italian is now?

Re: “Boom Tic Boom

Although I only made it to half of the show, this was an amazing experience. The band was very skilled and in tune with each other, and provided a great atmosphere. I attended the concert to get content for a school paper, and I took notes for the majority of the performance; this did not alter the fact that I still noticed it was a wonderful show, the crowd was deeply into the music, and it was easy to get into the vibe and be a part of it all.

This is such a beautiful place....The lake adds so much beauty and peace in this area...No matter what's going on outside of it...It's there for you to unwind..go for a walk around the geese with their little babies, lay on the grass and feel the sun that gives you vitamin D..Dances and performances you can watch or join so many things...Love it!

Re: “Love Our Lake Day 2013

Love the fact that I can stroll Grand Avenue on Love Our Lake Day and make stops at such great neighborhood spots as Kitchen 338 for a great Brunch and right across the street Bar 389 for early morning light fare, coffee & drinks, Ahn's Burgers for breakfast & lunch fare & House of Curries. What stops will be on your stretch of the route?

Re: “"Cops & Robbers" Onstage at

The matinee performances will be followed by an audience discussion with Piper and representatives from local violence prevention programs. These may be some of the most vital conversations the Oakland community will have about violence in our city, precisely because of the presence and voices of elders and young adults in the house.

For mature audiences only! Minimum recommended age 14 due to strong language and honest content.
