I agree with your review. My husband and I went to the Frog and Fiddle. Being a very picky, I apprehensive. I ordered the tilapia with the coconut milk with spinach sauce. It was excellent!!! I can't wait to go back. The staff was wonderful and Chef Soleil came out to see how we were enjoying it. I would give it ten stars!!!
I attended the first of these discussions a couple of weeks ago. It was very interesting.
The Berkeley Rose Garden is one of the most visited sites in Berkeley and not to be missed any time of the year. The event promises to be one of the most gratifying and fun filled event of the year. Do not miss it.
We had most of the meats. Generally underwhelming.. Ribs were tough and not smokey, brisket was cut wrong and little smoke ring, tri-tip was just ok, links were just so so. Mac and Cheese, Yams, and beans were good. Way over priced for the quality of the product. I get BBQ all over the country and usually will kill a combo plate and look for more. Not here, I stopped after about a third of the plate and my wife ate even less of hers. Maybe its too much to expect decent BBQ in Northern California. Skip this one...
I took my boy friend and picked up some lingerie. They also have stockings and toys. It was such a refreshing experience, the store has a contempo style and everything they sale is current. They have lingerie that I haven't seen anywhere else.
You are talking Little Guatemala, right? Between the bakery with the catchy name, the weekend highlander chicken plates on the sidewalk, and the tamales on the corner? You could make it a square to Foothill so you include the Melrose library and the arab merchants catering to mexican and central american taste. Perfectly doable and enjoyable world on -say- a bicyle under, alas! the refuge of sunlight.
My new favorite Berkeley spot. I love going for breakfast especially on the week ends if the line is too long at LaNote. The eggs are organic and are served as a souffle with salmon. They are delicious. The sandwiches are almost addictive. But, I go for the smiles from the staff as much as I do the food. They know me by name after a few visits and always want to know what I liked. Go for a date, by yourself or meet a group of friends. It works in all those combinations. My favorite is to go by myself, get a mocha ( coffee is delicious) and eggs to watch groups of friends meet and hang out laughing and talking ( no texting).
I feel ucky I have discovered this little bit of France in the heart of Berkeley.
It makes me happy.
To have been in Oakland all these years and still be here standing tall. Says a lot about the longevity of a good time in the East Bay! Under rated! Should not be over looked! :-o
wrong website link on the last page. it should be http://districtoak.com

Re: “EiWear”
Friendly and chic... not often do those two qualities share common ground, but at E iWEAR, it's different. Jennifer and Ernst are super sweet and the selection of styles is amazing. Best of all, none of the frames come from the global eye-wear giant that dictates prices and puts small guys out of business. All the frames at E iWEAR come from small manufactures, with one of them being just a few miles away in Hayward, CA. I highly recommend them!
