Yes I love this Solstice Celebration! I will be there.
I once saw a photo of a teepee with custom mirrors! Can you believe that? In Manhattan Beach CA, it's really common to have weird things like that. I really enjoy it, though. http://www.careflections.com
I love this local gallery and club. The painting on the walls great;the service is great and the musicians are incredible. I am pleased to say "Come to the gallery and enjoy the local talent. I am just so pleased that there is a comfortable place in Oakland that I can go to to enjoy really good music. When the Jazz Voyagers are playing, please do not miss them. This is real jazz that you don't hear everywhere. I am just grateful!!!
links dont work!!!
Great little cafe that serves delish food. Lets you bring in your own wine while listening to some god music. The Extramarital Sextet is a jazz band worth listening to. The entire range of jazz, expertly covered fr your listening pleasure. Not to be missed. Plus they are local so why not support a great local cafe and a great local band of jazz musicians.
Current Show "A little Princess" is a fabulous production with some broadway talent and great staging. Despite the name, this classic story has much wider appeal than just little girls. Its about bravery in the face of adversity, and a love of adventure even when surrounding by pressure to be conventional. If you loved RENT you are in for a treat -- one of the leads here won the TONY in 1996 for Angel in Rent. while all the adult leads and child leads are professional level here, his voice has a tone that transports you and echoes in the theater. Great fun evening -- runs through Dec 8th.
This concert is on Saturday the 23rd, not Friday!
Can't wait for the event!
Terrific sport for people who like to use their minds while they excersize. Chess ball. Oh, and the games are at 4pm on Tuesdays, not at 6.
This restrospective exhibition showcases photographs of farm workers taken by Ernest Lowe 50 years ago in California's Central and Salinas Valleys. The focus of the show is on children and families. 50 years ago Lowe photographed many children working in the fields, some as young as 4 years old. In researching the situation today, Lowe found little has changed-- young children are still being exploited by corporate agribusiness. See www.ernestlowe.com for more information and a preview of the show itself. The show's opening is tonight, with wine, appetizers, and a talk by Lowe, and the show runs through the the end of the year.
I've gone to the Hillside Club twice now on the 1st or 3rd Wednesday evening @ 7 - 7:30 for the Peter Brown Satsang, but it isn't happening. Please tell him to stop advertizing at the East Bay Express about these events if they are somewhere else or not happening any more. Thank you.
This event is actually located @ Mills Hall but if you ask the people at the front gate they will gladly assist you in finding the location :)
This sounds amazing! I can't make it that weekend, though...but looking forward to next year! Where is it exactly?
