Re: “Buon Appetito

Great local restaurant that consistently delivers good value and good service. Now that they have the full bar and all that affords the dining experience, Buon Appetito is one of our go to places.

Re: “Tibetan Nyingma Institute

Great place to experience meditation and to explore it further. Classes in psychology, Buddhist studies, Tibetan, Tibetan Yoga, and, of course, meditation. Something for everyone, no matter what kind of orientation to self and the world. Peaceful meditation garden with giant prayer wheel is open to public whenever they are open.

Re: “Souley Vegan

In my travels, I often think of Oakland's amazing food offerings and the Vegan Catfish plate with everything at Souley Vegan is like Christmas Morning to my mouth!! It was like $19 or something, worth twice that! ~ This kind of knowledge deserves reward!!! Cheers!!

last time I was there they said they were closing :( and becoming a 'Van' cool :) I'll look for them the next time I am in Oakland, which I hope is soon!
The Artichoke Bean Baked thing was a Vegan Orgasm!!!

Re: “Marica

I've eaten everywhere, and I love Marica's. They do wonderful fish, are fairly priced, and have a wonderful wait staff who make the dining experience terrific. Zagat rates them a 27 on food, which is only one star less than chez panisse and stars ahead of Oliveto, Bay Wolf, etc. It is a great local place to eat.

Re: “Highwire Coffee Roasters

The owners are a coffee and tea dream team with over 50 years combined experience. Rich, Robert & Eric love nothing more than meeting customers and sharing their love of fine coffees and teas. You won't meet three nicer people and can ask them any questions, whether you are a seasoned Third Waver or an occasional decaf drinker.
The pastries from Starter Bakery are the best around - the Kouign Amann is a bit of heaven.
Keep your eyes on Highwire, great things are coming from these guys. They care about their customers and what they brew the cup.

Re: “Codornices Park

I was impressed by what an excellent play/performance art this was. The cast members were all very engaging. The story is the Sumerian version of the classic Persephone myth but they made it fresh and compelling. Some of the interactive pieces worked and some fell flat; one based around writing & leaving personal memories inside the shrine of Inanna was very moving to me. I had zero expectations and was very pleasantly surprised. This company has a lot of talented people.

It is an old italian place that last gone more mass production and lost a bit of the family feeling it had 30 yrs ago. Most likely all their food comes from major food service suppliers and that hurts garlic bread, chicken and fries. prices can be good if you get the right item. maybe one half chicken and fries. the pasta is really poor?? Is this what Grandma would have accepted? I think not. drinks are cheap at the bar!!

Re: “Oggi

The place was disorganized and the service was BEYOND slow.
Prices were exceptionally high for the quality (or lack thereof).
That famous lava cake everyone tells you about....tastes about equal to a boxed lava cake mix. btw - lava cake saw its peak about 6 years ago.
This place was one of the worst dining experiences I've had in years. A definitely NO!

We have been hard at work preparing the Richmond SPOKESHOP bike shop to receive the breath of life that you bring with your patronage, presence, and contribution to the launch of not just a bike shop, but also a movement.

After three years of planning and a month of build-out and hundreds of collective hours, our doors will open to the public. We will start with opening our shop to community service and tune ups and as our cash flow and funding picks up we will launch new and used bike sales, custom bike builds, The Family Bicycle Collaborative, Youth internship and entrepreneurial program, and our Online Pro Bike Business Bicycle Broker.

There are many other incubator ideas that will sprout from this hub of community activity. The strong biker legs of this organization will provide the launching board for our participant’s dreams.

Please come to celebrate with, Bike Raffles, Music, Food, Murals, Live art, Art Bikes, and Fanfare. Be there when we un-wrap the windows and cut the ribbon at the threshold to The First SPOKESHOP and Only Bike Shop In Richmond.

Get an autographed copy of Major Taylor's biography from the author Andrew Ritchie at SPOKESHOP Grand Opening.... http://andrewritchie.wordpress.com/

Please check the Website or our FaceBook for details and contributing musicians artist and bike SPOKESPEOPLE coming to celebrate and raise the roof.

Re: “Paisan

The pizza is cold. How can the pizza be cold when it is 15 steps from the oven to the table? Crust is chewy, not in a good way. Staff is completely oblivious. Failed to refill water, failed to get my colleague's beer, then failed to tell him that beer was out, then failed to get us the check... in short, fail.
