Best BBQ ever! The pork ribs fall right off the bone, and they're not all sauced up, they have a spice rub and a glaze so they're amazing, but not sloppy. Plus... the owner is hot!!!
The fritopie is even more delicious the second day
Hands down the best brisket and ribs I have had since Texas
giant classic pulled pork sando with vinegar slaw what else to say! Ask for the secret mustard sauce...
Lois has been dead for over twenty years now but the business long outlives her. That's beautiful. She left a legacy that has been handed down to her son. That's powerful. A mother that leaves a business to her children, I love any parent that does that. That's powerful man. We need more intergenerational transfer of businesses and wealth in the African-American community. We have some, but not enough, we need more, much more.
Always a great meal at Miss Ollie's, right down the street from our condo. Atmosphere is on the very plain side, but nice vibe. If you are looking for a quiet place then you might want to consider other options, but don't be scared away by the loudness issue if you don't mind a bit of noise. I highly recommend this spot.
terrific, here's a restaurant that deserves 5 stars. we always have a great experience! if you want nawlins cuisine, go no further.
Smoke Berkeley is really good. My favorite is the pulled pork sandwich with spicy vinagre sauce, with corn bread. And the pies are dreamy!
Hi, Sarah, ya badass! I LOVE YOUR OXTAILS!!
Incredible fried chicken!
Like mom's home cooking at its best!
Come in as a party of 4 to 6, and order "one of everything", including their drinks. "Bang for the buck", it's unbeatable and it becomes addictive. Good!
Great BBQ and sides. Fantastic chocolate pecan pie. Friendly chef and staff.
My grandmother passed away a long time ago... but my family and I swear that on Sunday's SOUL'S somehow wakes her from the Grave to cook... SOUL'S is a wonderful place to eat... Awesome food, Great Service and just as SoulFul as Sexual Chocolate...
Make sure you have had nothing before going to the Sunday Brunch. it's pure Gluttony. They have large tables and Chairs that make you feel comfy too... I like that. It's about $20 for the all you can eat sunday brunch... it's SOOOO worth it!!!
We had most of the meats. Generally underwhelming.. Ribs were tough and not smokey, brisket was cut wrong and little smoke ring, tri-tip was just ok, links were just so so. Mac and Cheese, Yams, and beans were good. Way over priced for the quality of the product. I get BBQ all over the country and usually will kill a combo plate and look for more. Not here, I stopped after about a third of the plate and my wife ate even less of hers. Maybe its too much to expect decent BBQ in Northern California. Skip this one...
The best fried chicken I've ever had!
I'm completely addicted to their shrimp n' grits... and I don't even like grits!
This should be called Soleil's African Kitchen at the Frog & Fiddle.
What does the first line in your review mean, dorseydon? Inside joke of some sort? Inquiring minds need to know!
