38th and Foothill
Hey Guys!!!Am so happy I got mine from Annie. My blank ATM card can withdraw $2,000 daily. I got it from Her last week and now I have $8,000 for free. The blank ATM withdraws money from any ATM machines and there is no name on it, it is not traceable and now i have money for business and enough money for me and my family to live on .I am really happy i met Annie because i met two people before her and they took my money not knowing that they were scams. But am happy now. Annie sent the card through DHL and i got it in two days. Get your own card from her now she is not like other scammer pretending to have the ATM card,She is giving it out for free to help people even if it is illegal but it helps a lot and no one ever gets caught. im grateful to Annie because she changed my story all of a sudden . The card works in all countries except Philippines, Mali and Nigeria. Annie's email address is email@example.com
"Ghibli's righteousness has grown tiresome"
What are you even talking about? Only Yesterday is a 25 year old film. They weren't even remotely big or well known around the world as they are now. And even so, why shouldn't they be righteous? They've totally earned the right. You're sarcastic tone doesn't make any sense because Ghibli has produced equal amounts of slice of life films in contrast to their fantasies. Because animation is more than that, and always has been. And while Hosoda is a competent director, this is far and away from being close to his best work. Wolf Children and TGWLTT were far superior films. Only Yesterday displayed immensely admirable themes of growing up and accepting your mortality, so I'm not quite sure why you feel Ghibli (and Pixar, for that matter) needs to "take note" of a film with morals that have been done countless times over already.
"Boy-Beast is told from a strictly male perspective, generally a rarity in animated family movies these days"
Um, no. It really isn't. Are you just genuinely dense or what?
Jessie, Dragon Inn played Landmark's Shattuck May 6 thru 12, 2016, as an Exclusive Engagement -- meaning one week only, and that the film will not play elsewhere other than Landmark. So I'm afraid your chances to see it on the big screen are slim and none right now. I apologize for not noting the "one week only" proviso in my review. I guess the best approach is that if you see a review or ad for a movie you might like, go out and see it immediately. It will probably only stay in the theater for a short time.
the calculations at the beginning of this article are wrong. if a landlord spends $300,000 to maintain and improve the quality of houseing for the tenants has to be divided by 70% = $210,00 then assume the remaining cost is divided equally amoung the 10 units = 21,000. this must be amortized over AT LEAST 5 years or 60 months = $350 per month and that is only if each tenant is already paying at least $3500 per month in rent. if rent is less than that it has to be paid over a longer period making the monthly increase less than 10% of the rent. And it can't be added to a COLA increase in the same year. Oh yeah, after the 5 years (or more) this rent raise has to be rolled back.
Anya Fernald is quite a dynamo of quality food production. Oakland, and Jack London Square is lucky to have her - not just as a force in our blossoming community, but as a resident as well. And she's a talented food wizard too.
Most people who "lost" their homes do to foreclosure put very little down payment. In many cases there was 100% financing by government programs. America is the only country that does this. So if millions of people bought this way, you would expect a few foreclosures. As to rents: they are driven by market forces and to make an individual subsidized others is counter productive. It will stop the investing in rental properties. Better to expand the Sec. 8 program and give people rent vouchers so they can go into the marketplace and rent a unit.
Great...more people out on the streets. SRO residents are vulnerable and all commenters like Julian Urmson and Dee Turner can think of is all the $$ that will supposedly come flooding in...to developers pockets and landlords. They are the same type of people who will then complain about homelessness. We are entering the Gilded Age, Part 2 and it's ugly.

People who were oppressed under the tyranny of the unconstitutional, unscientific, and immoral war upon people who use cannabis deserve reparation. This is a beginning.
Please note that if someone is reading the Spanish-language sign that does not imply that the person cannot speak English. Everyone needs to be given the same opportunities. If the owner really wanted English-speaking servers, she should say so: in both languages.
I agree with DEE. Market forces are a great way to improve the quality of housing stock and revitalizing our historic and once very elegant downtown will generate tourism and make it more of a destination. San Franisco's coffers are exploding with revenue generated from tourism. Dollars spent by visitors and students from outside Oakland will lift small businesses and result in a net capital inflow.

Sorry we were out of town. If you can catch Prof. Salomon's talks on Gov. Pico at the Peralta Hacienda or African American Museum, it gives another layer to the complexity of California. But Dominica's cooking and changing specials are reason to celebrate every day.
I have been flagged twice on NextDoor, one time for an unknown reason, and one time because I criticized a store for selling outdated food. I don't think individuals should be able to "flag" members arbitrarily without somehow justifying their reasoning. Or perhaps there should be a certain number of "flags" (3-5) from different people before a neighbor gets blocked?
