Re: “Online Poll Attacks Oakland Councilmember Rebecca Kaplan, Claims False Endorsements for Peggy Moore

Peggy Moore violently attacked peaceful Chelsea Manning supporters at the OAK Obama HQ in Aug 2012. As 3 older women sat on sidewalk in front the swinging front doors, she slammed the doors outward into their backs. After the 8 vets inside calmed down volunteers and staff who came at them with chairs, Moore struck again. This time she opened the doors toward her and kicked the 3 women in the back and she's built like a punter.

She claims to be a renter, but I'd love to see her tax returns for the past 5 years.
As a member of the Radical group LAGAI said: "That's Peggy Moore. She's an opportunist" Big question: What is she doing on the Mayor's staff--making Libby look like she condones violent behavior? https://youtu.be/o59ypIzPea8

Re: “Why So Many Bisexual Men are Still in the Closet

I am a bi man, and I'm closeted. This article definitely touches on why. I have a few things to add though.

Earlier in life, for years after I figured out I was bi, I was closeted for the usual reasons. (I'm from the Midwest, which doesn't help.) But later in life, as I've grown and matured, I've stayed closeted by choice. For a few reasons.

I'm not bi-romantic. I'm straight romantic. I have absolutely no romantic attraction to men. I would never date a man. I don't even like kissing men. But I am definitely attracted to their bodies and personalities. Sexuality and attraction is truly a spectrum.

Because of that, "coming out" as bisexual for me feels more like revealing sexual history than something that's integral to who I am as a person. I don't really feel like I'm hiding more than anybody else who doesn't generally talk about their sexual history.

And, while this may sound like a cop-out, another reason I've never come out is that no one has ever asked or been interested. I would not lie if someone asked, but literally no one ever has. I'm fairly masculine, married, and have always dated women, so it's just assumed that I'm straight. (I've volunteered it to past girlfriends and my now-wife for obvious reasons.) If someone were interested, I would talk about it, but as the author touches on here, society doesn't really want to hear about it, so I don't talk about it.

That said, male bisexuality absolutely needs to be more visible and destigmatized. That's the only reason I've seriously considered "coming out."

Re: “Dan Savage: How Can Sex Worker Clients Fight to Legalize Sex Work?

Thank you for this excellent article about our clients. The so called Nordic Model allows abuse by cops who use the laws to threaten to arrest our clients if we do not provide them with sex, money or information. The reason that the Nordic model does not work is because any time you penalize the purchaser of a service, the laws can only be enforced arbitrarily and selectively, giving cops the leverage to extort sex workers. How about just arresting the people who actually abuse another person, when and if a criminal report is filed. Pursuing the non violent, non abusive clients, employers and associates of consenting adult sex workers means that scarce and valuable resources are squandered, leaving nothing to help the real victims. From 1991 to 2014, there were 6,251,076 reported violent rapes and sexual assaults, but cops managed to apprehend only 651,107 predators, leaving 5,599,969 victims without justice. (stats from the FBI Bureau of Justice Statistics, tables #5 and 69), Those who demand an 'end the demand' are ensuring that even fewer real predators are apprehended while their pathetic agenda to abolish all commercial sex leaves ALL women more vulnerable. http://policeprostitutionandpolitics.com/e…

Re: “Eleanor Roosevelt's Great Lesbian Love Affair

After being in relationship with Smith for six years,he broke up with me, I did everything possible to bring him back but all was in vain, I wanted him back so much because of the love I have for him, I begged him with everything, I made promises but he refused. I explained my problem to someone online and she suggested that I should rather contact a spell caster that could help me cast a spell to bring him back but I am the type that never believed in spell, I had no choice than to try it, I mailed the spell caster, and he told me there was no problem that everything will be okay before three days, that my ex will return to me before three days, he cast the spell and surprisingly in the second day, it was around 3pm. My ex called me, I was so surprised, I answered the call and all he said was that he was so sorry for everything that happened, that he wanted me to return to him, that he loves me so much. I was so happy and went to him, that was how we started living together happily again. Since then, I have made promise that anybody I know that have a relationship problem, I would be of help to such person by referring him or her to the only real and powerful spell caster Dr Thabani, who helped me with my own problem and who is different from all the fake ones out there. you can contact him on drthabanispellcaster@gmail.com, you can email him if you need his assistance in your relationship or anything he also help me to win $10,000 for lotto game.I CAN NEVER STOP TALKING ABOUT YOU SIR HIS EMAIL: drthabanispellcaster@gmail.com Or whatassp +27826439617.

Re: “Months Later, Still No Charges Against Oakland Cops Who Sexually Exploited Celeste Guap

O.Malley is a loser with perception of her incompetence being extremely high. Time to file charges and get off her duff or give it to State AG for prosecution. Damn shame that some bad apples tarnish all OPD officers and the DA is in another world as it drags its feet.

Re: “Months Later, Still No Charges Against Oakland Cops Who Sexually Exploited Celeste Guap

The way they threw Sgt Gantt under the bus is another example of how dirty they are. Gantt has always been a outstanding cop who served the city well. Other officers/investigators just abhor the way he gets his cases solved and is so often in the spotlight as a result. I'm really surprised they haven't tried other things in an attempt to bring him down, professionally or physically.
Most of the cops at OPD can not be trusted and you have to be extra careful about who you communicate with in leadership as well. Speak up against certain cops involved in wrongdoing and those cops will be tipped off while you now have to watch YOUR back from suspects on the street as well as other officers. Whent's departure was long over due and had those rookies been around a bit longer they would've been protected and possibly saved by the blue code.
I along with many others in and outside OPD will not be surprised when there are no charges filed in the Guap case. By the way, O'Brien's suicide was prompted by the guilt of his wife's death as well as his relationship with Guap. Regardless of what the DA says, remember, OPD was at the scene first (take that several ways). He killed his wife and a certain detective was on the verge of getting him to break or confess util he was swiftly pulled off the case

Re: “Months Later, Still No Charges Against Oakland Cops Who Sexually Exploited Celeste Guap

OPD has always been terrible when it came to covering up for officers.
While I was there, I gave statements against 2 officers whom I witnessed beating a handcuffed suspect....with their batons. For the next few weeks dispatch had to assign units to back me on calls during certain shifts. Dirty cops backed by dirty administration. Leaving OPD was one of the best moves I've made for my career, sanity and life

Re: “Months Later, Still No Charges Against Oakland Cops Who Sexually Exploited Celeste Guap

If OPD Officers (including high ranking officers) participated in a cover-up of the information implicating other officers in unlawful sex trafficking activities, those officers should be prosecuted for obstruction of justice. Period.

Re: “Months Later, Still No Charges Against Oakland Cops Who Sexually Exploited Celeste Guap

If there is a full investigation of this matter, Oakland may end up with ZERO police on the streets - except possibly the female officers. Perhaps this is why there has been no action taken?

Thanks for the smart words about sex work! Here is a link to a former project about education for clients. http://www.schoolforjohns.com/ Since then the shame based John's school program, specifically SAGE, has closed down in San Francisco, however the DA is still running a shaming program. Clients are in the crosshairs around the world. Here is a collection of material for further info. http://www.bayswan.org/enddemand/

Re: “Months Later, Still No Charges Against Oakland Cops Who Sexually Exploited Celeste Guap

O'Malley has failed to take action against police brutality in Alameda County. She has, however, prosecuted victims of such brutality. If there is enough outrage, she might choose a low-level police officer or two as sacrificial lambs for a slap on the wrist, but only because of her political ambitions (rumors are that she wants to be appointed Attorney General by Governor Brown).

In any case, this case goes beyond Oakland and Alameda County, as officers from Richmond and San Francisco were involved. I'm not sure that the Attorney General, whose main interest is to get elected to the Senate and keep the law enforcement unions on her side, would conduct a fair investigation, but it is the responsibility of her office to do so. It's outrageous that she has washed her hands on this case.

Re: “Dan Savage: How Can Sex Worker Clients Fight to Legalize Sex Work?

The issue of whether or not to legalize sex work is complicated and there are reasoned arguments on both sides. Even Savage himself notes that the Nordic model is "much-touted" but neglects to offer why. It's called the Nordic model because it's already been implemented in countries that have tracked its effectiveness. Savage does a disservice to this issue and effectively silences the sex workers who "tout" the Nordic model by only representing one side of this debate and only offering the sources that support his views. When you present one side and suggest that you are speaking for all who are effected by an issue, that's called "propaganda." That would be like asking about the Black Lives Matter movement and only quoting articles by members of law enforcement. That's what Savage has done and it's a disservice to the issue and to the women and men who both work in and have dealt with the sex industry who disagree with Savage's one-sided presentation of the issue. In addition, his celebratory, fun tone regarding sex work completely ignores the epidemic problem of child sex slavery, as many sex workers are first pimped while under the legal age of consent. Speaking of pimps, Savage also conveniently left them out of the discussion, as well. While Savage shows empathy for the people who buy sex, he appears to have zero empathy or awareness for the children who are pimped into forced prostitution or the women who are trafficked across borders for forced sex work. Nor does he offer any solutions for those heinous human rights violations.
