The reopening turned out to be a terrific event. A perfect Friday night distraction for my family. I highly recommend the exhibits.
Just for the historical record. Grant was an elementary school serving the kids of Hoover/Durant who lived above Grove ST(now MLK)..It's boundary was MacARthur to West Grand, from MLK to a block above Broadway. In those days there was no freeway and the Calif. School For the Blind was where the highway patrol is now. There was no 580, no huge hopsitals on Pill HIll so you had a viable student population. That said, congratulations to the Street Academy for it's pioneering efforts in Alternative Ed.

I have another great tip I want to share....... If it's your first time trying anal LAY ON YOUR BACK! You will feel more relaxed and have a greater chance at success =) If that doesn't work try some of this http://www.blissfulgoodies.com/Anal-Eze-Ge…
Anyone who has been in a relationship for a significant amount of time (think 6 months +) knows that after a while, it's time to start exploring ways to spice things up in the bedroom.
One simple sex toy, the vibrating clit flicker, is an extremely simple, straightforward toy that can totally revolutionize your old faithfuls. The best part? This toy will add pleasure for BOTH partners at the same time; a rarity in many cases.
Reverse Cowgirl: We know how this one works: the man lays on his back on the bed, and the female straddles her man facing his feet.
enhance it:
Reverse Cowgirl +: Slip the vibrating clit flicker on over the man's penis and testicles. Assume the position, and begin rocking. The vibrations will not only drive the man wild, but will also move through the woman's vagina, sending new sensations throughout her insides. As though this isn't enough, the flicking will add increased levels of stimulation to the woman's clitoris and to the man's testicles simultaneously. The added levels of pleasure throughout both partners' bodies will send both people through the roof

If you don't have the patience or dexterity for a few months of gentle finger stretches with Betamethasone (prescription) ointment then the surgical remedy is NOT circumcision. It is bi-lateral dorsal slit with transverse closure, which amputates no sensual tissue.
Really cool! Nice image too. Check out and comment on one of my photos I think this would be some radio art. But word's an artist che just made a Golden gate bridge shot... ? https://artandmaterial.wordpress.com/2013/…
The right to disassociate as well as associate has, to my knowledge, always been a rather important aspect of anarchism. He did the best thing he could in the situation, and it in no way goes against anarchist principles. It's not like he destroyed AK Press when he left, and if he'd rather spend his time with something else, well, why the hell not?
The remaining members of AK Press still have their egalitarian model set up, and they don't have to deal with a person who'd rather not be a part of that particular model anymore. It's a win-win.
Understandably, one would like to be fed another utopian hope (to stir one's emotions) when confronting failed past utopian endeavors. But wouldn't that be missing the point? I agree that this work might invoke sadness, despondency, and pity. In my opinion, that allows one to begin the process of looking at our environmental/cultural/economic status from a responsible point of view, instead of swapping new utopian visions for the old ones.
It is also understandable, in a capitalist system, to expect art to distract, entertain, offer fantasy or escapism- but it takes courage and conviction from an artist to present the reality she sees, even if this causes discomfort. Congrats to Ms. Escott.
I don't know if I can think of anything better than cheap wine and free cheese! Except for maybe some deluxe residential windows in vancouver. It would be pretty close though.
It's so interesting how differently people can respond to the same art and the manner in which it is presented. If readers would like an alternative perspective, I thought I'd share this link to a write up about the show by Abigail Doan of The Wild Magazine:

Of course, I also hope people will come check out the work themselves this weekend before the show closes.
Thanks for taking the time to visit and respond to the show.

Re: “Shots, Licks, and Male Ennui”
"Most importantly, the actors — two of whom were plucked from a family-run Shakespeare troupe — create a realistic portrayal of male ennui in the 'hood."
