Re: “Ask Legalization Nation: Weeding Out Hemp Oil Hustlers.

Did you know that a company who was associated with an article that was published not to long ago is being sued for false statements.

Re: “Pro-Weed Voters Should Not Ignore the Election

thank you Paula for this FYI--this is my fear-that crap LAWS will be porked into this and MJ supporters will only read the headlines---cause we want legalization so bad....but not this bad...& we shouldn't STAND for it! It insults our collective intelligence "Give the stoners what they want slip in shit laws that we want"....
makes my blood boil-thank god it's 4:20

Re: “Pro-Weed Voters Should Not Ignore the Election

Read this proposition top to bottom before getting high on it. Yes, it reduces cannabis sentencing but it also legalizes the use of date rape drugs by making them misdemeanors. In fact the use of a drug to "incapacitate a victim" would be a misdemeanor no matter how many times it a person was charged. Stealing guns would be reduced to a misdemeanor. Really? I'm not in favor of this very poorly written proposed legislation.

Re: “Pro-Weed Voters Should Not Ignore the Election

my concern, of course, is that voters will vote for one issue only---i think radical wingnuts know this--the irony would be if pot became legal and prochoice illegal--a real concern because the libertarians seem to be catering to both---oy.

Re: “Pro-Weed Voters Should Not Ignore the Election

I'm surprised that you did not mention Mike Katz-Lacabe and Mia Ousley who are running for San Leandro City Council Districts 1 and 5 respectively. The both worked hard to get the City Council to pass the medical marijuana ordinance, attending and speaking out in favor of the dispensaries and organizing people to do the same. They are both running against opponents (Deborah Cox and Leah Hall) who are on the record opposing marijuana dispensaries. Below is a clip of Mike and Deborah speaking in favor and against marijuana dispensaries respectively, at a Council meeting in 2012.

Victor Aguilar, who is running for District 3, may be pro-cannabis, but he did not participate in the fight to allow dispensaries in town.

Re: “The Truth About Medical Marijuana Card Privacy

You do not have to include the fact that you have a MMC on an application. That is protected by HIPAA and is not considered public knowledge as the article explained. But if you fail a urinalysis, it's pointless to use the medical marijuana defense because it likely makes no difference. If there is a federal statue or law against marijuana in your workplace, you CAN NOT legally use it by those standards. Although, it would seem that if you don't abuse the MMC it shouldn't be an issue, as heavy users (according to the article) are the ones who have it lingering in their system. Additionally, marijuana is not the only drug out there for any ailment. It is one of few that are illegal on the federal level. So if your livelihood could be put at risk by using marijuana, it may be wise to pursue other options.

Re: “Pro-Weed Voters Should Not Ignore the Election

In Los Angeles Senate District 24 pro-pot Democrat Peter Choi is challenging the incoming Senate President who is backed by Big Pharma and the anti-marijuana lobby. As the only state candidate advocating for marijuana legalization, the Harvard educated Choi has been very articulate and convincing on the campaign trail. In addition to starring in a Vote Yes on Prop 47 ad, Choi has devoted an entire page to the issue of marijuana legalization on his website: http://www.choiforsenate2014.com/#!marijuana/coa4

Re: “Meet Your New Pot Dealer: Big Pharma

Good article as far as it goes, but we must respectfully disagree with the statement "The schism has its roots in the Seventies and the drug war under Richard Nixon."

Rather it is another example of the reality that the US is no longer a nation governed under the rule of law by, for, and of the people - if it ever truly was - and is in fact a corrupt empire of wealth and power by, for, and of a privileged, entitled few. Occupants of the White House, whether past or current, are little more than front men; just a part of the grand charade passed off as an electoral system to let the masses feel empowered.
