Indeed a great location to eat delicious Middle Eastern food and sweets. I have been going to the store since it opened. Their falafel is fried when you order it and they told me most of the things they sell (dolmas, humus, baba ganouge, tabouleh and all the dessert) is made fresh from scratch. Oasis is definetly the place to check out if you are a meat lover too. They have tastey meat wraps of shawarma or kabob and plates. I found everything reasonablly priced. You can do your grocery shopping on the other side of the store while waiting for your food.
These men shine the light of powerful, protective and non-violent masculinity that can change the world. Their integrity and commitment to community service and personal growth inspires my optimism for the future.
My (new) husband and I got to see our wedding photos by Jerry and Ingrid just a few days ago. It's unbelievable how they can capture the emotions of a single day so well. Each photo was taken with such a unique perspective and eye for composition and color. Amazing. They even flew out to the east coast to do our engagement photos, which came out beautifully. Not only are they incredibly talented at what they do, they're such fun-loving, easy going people as well. I'll echo the person above, they are certainly deserving of this award. If you haven't booked a photographer yet, I can't recommend Jerry's team enough.
Jerry, Ingrid, Aubrey and Blake are amazing! Check out their work and all of the great reviews out on the net and I'm sure you'll be convinced that they are certainly deserving of this award. My fiancée and I are having our engagement shots done with Jerry in August and we couldn't be more excited. We really feel like we are buy our own personalized creative works of art.
It's a lovely space, with awesome people, but, yes, it's the coffee we come here for! Absolutely amazing!
Bravo~ These guys are so great - a rare breed - and Heroes in our Midst - the Bay Area is a much better place as a result of the amazing altruism and enthusiasm and gusto these men demonstrate. I'm a fan. Page Larkin SF Examiner
Wendy is the best!
She took care of my dreads for many many years, and when I was ready to cut them off she helped me transition into straight hair with grace and ease. I am extremely lucky to have found her!
Andrea is amazing -- an not just for baseball. I strongly recommend you get a reading yourself and check out her skills in helping you make your way through the twists & turns of your life!

"Yo" is not in popular usage in Northern California. A more likely sentence would be: "That concert was hella tight, bruh" (bruh being short for brother or bro). The PG-13 form, hecka, was not created by suburban teens, but by Bay Area native inner city kids whose parents won't let them say hell.
And their Isabel’s Cuvèe Grenache Rosé is wicked good!
Ase -0. May the Ancestors and Orisa continue to bless you as you walk/dance your path.
Your gift for dance and choreography has delighted and endeared each student to your vision of life's steps.
I am so grateful to know you and enjoy your talents. May you continue to show us the way of movement and inner beauty.
Yay! I've been training at this dojo for almost 10 years, and can attest to what a great place it is. I don't think I would have lasted this long anywhere else!
Oakland is so lucky to have the wise and talented Isaura. She is a truly gifted dancer, teacher and mentor. She is one of a kind. AXE!
correction correction; no one "started" ecstatic dance. I've been doing it in one form or another, in groups, for all my life (I'm in my 40's) and it had been going on long before me. Your big island friends may have done much to popularize it in it's current form (and that's great!), but they certainly did not start it. Ecstatic dance is alive and well where I am in Portland OR, and I meet people from all over the country who do it where they are, too!
This authorless article did not check the facts. Mathew Fox has nothing to do with Ecstatic Dance. Also, it is not Christian (which is implied by calling it non-denominational) or religious in any way. Spiritual, physical, musical, social, not religious.
We are thrilled and honored to be recognized as the bookstore with the best events... Our customers come first, and our bookstore is that other place they have adopted as their second home. We feel proud and thank you for this great gift. - Jerry Thompson/ Events Manager/ Alameda
