Re: “Best Converted Church

Actually, the building Marmot is in was never a church, but rather a non-demoninational chapel used for weddings and funerals called the Little Chapel of the Flowers.

Re: “Most Reasonable Veterinary Services

Brent Martin is the best Vet EVER!!! He has taken very good care of my pets since 1984 and I have referred him to more people than he needed!! I recently had to put down my Orange male Tabby cat...Cyclone, who under Brent's wonderful care lived to be 20 years old. He put him down at our home and took him to be cremated in his favorite paw print blanket. He is the most caring individual one would ever want to meet. Thanks Brent, you are a family member to me and always will be! Julie Morton

Re: “Best Pâté

Best pate? Birds raised for pate are kept in small, crowded pens to limit movement. A metal nozzle attached to a pressurized hose forcefully and repeatedly injects cornmeal mush down the birds' throat. This enlarges the birds' livers to 6-8 times the normal size. The process continues until the birds are so damaged and then die a painful death. Wolfgang Puck one of the biggest producers of pate gave up making it a couple of years ago because of the cruelty. Still think there is such a thing as the "best pate. No such thing.

Re: “Best African Restaurant: Taming the devilish spices

I have yet to try the restaurant so I cannot say yea or nay. However I can say nay to the naming of the title, "taming the devilish spices". Why is the paper associating the devil with something of Africa? Regardless of one's religious leaning or lack of things associated with the devil tend to be negative. Whether written by staffer or reader I expect more from Eastbay Express.

Re: “Best Bay Area Slang Nominated as Math Nomenclature

Mark my words: The International Committee for Weights and Measures WILL accept and approve 10^27 as "Hella-". They have no reason not to. And it makes sense that the DIAMETER OF THE OBSERVABLE UNIVERSE happens to be just about exactly 1 Hellameter. Coincidence? NO WAY. BayLuv all day.

Re: “Best Sports Astrologer

Andrea is a great Astrologer. She uses intuition, insight and skill to help shed light on what is really going on beyond what we may see. She has helped me with some major decisions in my life. Her compassion and wisdom combined with her sharp astrology tools have been extremely beneficial to me. I recommend her to anyone striving for right action in their life. She knows her sports, too. It's all about cause and effect, is it not?

Re: “Best Middle Eastern Restaurant/Store

Indeed a great location to eat delicious Middle Eastern food and sweets. I have been going to the store since it opened. Their falafel is fried when you order it and they told me most of the things they sell (dolmas, humus, baba ganouge, tabouleh and all the dessert) is made fresh from scratch. Oasis is definetly the place to check out if you are a meat lover too. They have tastey meat wraps of shawarma or kabob and plates. I found everything reasonablly priced. You can do your grocery shopping on the other side of the store while waiting for your food.

Re: “Best Wedding Photographer

My (new) husband and I got to see our wedding photos by Jerry and Ingrid just a few days ago. It's unbelievable how they can capture the emotions of a single day so well. Each photo was taken with such a unique perspective and eye for composition and color. Amazing. They even flew out to the east coast to do our engagement photos, which came out beautifully. Not only are they incredibly talented at what they do, they're such fun-loving, easy going people as well. I'll echo the person above, they are certainly deserving of this award. If you haven't booked a photographer yet, I can't recommend Jerry's team enough.
