WHY WONT NEW YORK TIMES SUBMIT COSAS ON PRONTO HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE THEM TO FIGURE OUT WE AR TIRED OF FEEDING AND WANTANDO THEIR FAT MEXICANS AND MOJADOS DE CALIFORNIA! GET IT ITALIAN!
my friend...you know NOTHING about Gen. Pinochet, the way we lived before and after the "coup", which you may or may not know, was backed by the Chamber of Deputies (in a document that declared Mr. Allende unconstitutional. But of course, you are just a vicitim of the brainwashing the marxists all around the world have orchestrated. Shame on you. I hope you better investigate this subject, because every time an idiot like you says that Pinochet was a "cruel dictator", you are insulting more than half of Chile's people. Investigate and you'll see that in fact the "innocent victims" were in fact TERRORIST. Yes, terrorist, armed and trained by Castro in Cuba. They were NOT praying inside a church when they were killed. In fact, most of them had already killed really innocent people and police officers alike.
Thanks for reading.
Hey Kelly Is int saying Honky The Same As saying Nigger except when talking About white people?
Harry Shearer told the true stories of the people, for the people and by the people in their own words. No national or international news headlines and hype. Simple, straight , honest and clearly direct facts and pictures. It is obvious who and what went wrong. It is also obvious who made the first big difference for all the people concerned. See the movie and it will be very clear. Thank you Harry Shearer for dedication, work and concern. We the people appreciate it.
"To win her, he needs to duel her ex-boyfriends in fantasy sequences based on video games. Oh, great."
EXACTLY! That is why this film is brilliant! For the youth generation who love video games and breathe them in the way this film deals with them as a daily event is exactly what appeals. It's never been done before and exactly what I've always wanted for a film.
I'm a girl who hates romcoms but this is the love story of the century for me. Beat the bad guys (with epic fight scenes), collect the coincs and save the girl - the premise of Mario which ruled my childhood and Scott Pilgrim which can be the film which epitomizes my teen years.
On CENTURION:
Eye makeup was obviously invented long before this story takes place. Do you have problems with films depicting ancient Egyptians with kohl around their eyes? Cleopatra? I think not.
Virilus is the name of the real-life general who led the 9th into Scotland.
Marketing a film entirely shot in Latin is pretty much impossible, unless you're Mel Gibson -- though now, even he'd have trouble doing it... Did you mind that Gladiator was in English? And Troy? Alexander?

Wolves are diurnal. That means they're active during daytime, in case you didn't know.
Any more silly questions? No? Can we get a real review then, please?
"To win her, he needs to duel her ex-boyfriends in fantasy sequences based on video games. Oh, great."
With lines like this one I can't help but feel that this movie is going to divide it's viewers right down the middle.
On one side you will have the teenagers and the young(ish) adults who grew up with the culture presented in Scott Pilgrim. People in their mid teens going all the way to people in their mid thirties.
You will have the fence sitter in the middle (as you always do). Those who understand the culture but aren't exactly entrenched in it. Most of these will be people in their mid thirties on to their late forties.
On the other side you will have the resistant to change group. Those too old to accept the frightening new world they begrudgingly live in. Those aged in their mid 50's and above. Those like Mr. Vance.
Unfortunately for the latter group they just aren't all that relevant anymore...
Is this the Jeff Ho I knew in El Cerrito, DeJon the Whiterdragon
The main photo for this story looks like a bunch of gay clone police officers confronting a hippy chick.
Ieck...hated Please Give. left me with a icky, sad, dreading feeling. Not worth spending your money or time on. And not enough of New York City --what I went for anyway.

Re: "We could look at the ascendancy of Chinese history spectacles as a correlative to China's economic boom." This could be true.
However, when China's economic boom finally blossoms into the China New World Order, I foresee the Chinese movie industry will gravitate toward big screen versions of the many standard Chinese TV dramas... WW2 period pieces featuring ruthless Japanese military villains and PRC resistance heroes.
This movie has none of the charm or humor of Ministry of Fear. There is not one funny line in this movie. Brosnan and MacGregor are practically wasted. The entire plot is stupid, as soon as it is over you will realize a way the bad guys could have saved themselves a lot of trouble.
I love this review! I thought it was so cheesy. The army commando dude was so over the top. And are you kidding me? Did one of the scientist just say that this is some sort of "shock and awe" campaign? hahaha
Good review!! Most Dangerous Man in America is a fine and important documentary, and should be seen by anyone who has doubts about our current wars. It shows that freedom isn't free. It takes a strong free press willing to take risks. Ian
Bravo Kelly Vance! You've eloquently expressed my thoughts of this film into words. A thinly veiled hippy propaganda flick with an incredibly hackneyed plot. A 3 hour long Playstation 3 game. If Lord of the Rings screwed Last of the Mohicans, they'd have a baby named Avatar. I walked out 25 minutes before its blatantly predictable ending.
She pretty much nailed it. The only time I had that holy s**t moment was seeing the 3D trailer for the NASA movie. That was breathtaking...and real.
I was a bit confused about what i just read until i noticed some details:
Clueless girl who likes spelling things like "dialogue" doesn't really understand the structure of science fiction looking to blast someone (more likely blast the opinion of some Man she hates) on her local arts and culture blog.
Ah. Now i get it.
And as for her prediction:
Titanic, released well over a decade ago has earned $1.8 billion.
Avatar, released about two months ago, has earned $1.7 billion.
Perhaps stick to romantic comedies?
By god theese commentors make me lose my faith in humanity.
Fact: The film is technically groundbreaking - no one should argue against it's cinematic beauty, that would be bias on any level.
Fact: Personally I liked the film, and saw it twice actually.
Fact: The critics do point one very valid point out - the plot was weak and so was the acting.
I doesn't really matter whetever you agree or not, when you see a review by a pro-critic, who points something out, and proves it further by putting the individual problems in relation to others - then by god, you will have to be quite the tool, or a strong believer in the fact that you are in fact omnipotent, to just disagree and call the critic ignorant.
Yeah I liked the movie a lot, but in retrospective, the story THOU ENTERTAINING was nothing new or original, and just the same Hollywood shit fed to us with another flavor. Think of what humanity coulld have amounted to, if we would just lay our "personal" opinions on the shelf...
Re: “The Next Three Days”
This is one of the worst pieces of trash I've ever seen. I've lost all confidence in Kelly Vance. It is unbelievable from start to finish and gets laughably worse over its unfortunately long running length. And it's violent, unncessarily. And we don't care about the characters. And there's no reason for its existence, either in the story or any sort of concept above that. It's simple trash and poorly done trash at that. On top of that the scenes that are supposed to be subtle (the original murder), meant to be nuanced (I guess), are simply confusing. For a better of review of this see the Chron or the CSM. It sucks bigtime.
