Or you can just watch League of Denial on PBS for free instead of this fictionalized account that panders to the NFL. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/frontline/film/lea…
Disappointing is Ennio Morricon's barely-there musical score.
Go ahead, try playing any part of it in your mind.
This critic and review were paid for by the criminal police unions. Have a nice day.
He hasn't had a good idea since Reservoir Dogs. The nakedest of naked emperors.
It was a horrible movie. Most sites don't allow comments because they want to plug the movie. possibly for monetary gains, or sponsor support, possibly for political reasons like celebrating diversity in the film.. overall, the Star Wars the Force Awakens was a crappy emo millennial snooze fest, white male racist stereotype Hitler Youth bomb!
Did we watch the same movie?? what a joke! That movie sucked so bad! I can not believe the original cast agreed to do it! No story, bad acting, over the top forced emotions, whinny emo sissy villains. it was a total rip off of Episode 4 a new hope! what a nasty way to swindle money from fans! Disney and JJ Abrams created a real stinker.. worse then the prequels!
Wow you missed out on so much. Movie goers you totally need to see this film to decide for yourselves!
Wow, what a misguided, misses-the-point review! As just a film, Carol is a beautiful example of setting a scene and a mood, of shots and angles and pacing, film and color; as a story, it's a nuanced portrayal of desire, all the stronger through its restraint. Brilliantly written, acted and directed, I assume this reviewer was either texting throughout or waiting impatiently for a car crash or some other manufactured "excitement."
I find it very strange that the poster "neil allen" - real name Patrick O'Malley, 617-PATRICK - would complain about the catholic church. After all, he told his friends to give that same church money in the name of Margaret Hester O'Malley. Then he makes violent threats against all priests, says that all catholics are being raped in hell. . . It's all quite contradictory.
Hey, SNAPJudy, when will SNAP apologize for defending its resident psychologist/child pornographer Dr. Steve Taylor? You know, the one you trotted out to testify about catholic child abusers, who pled guilty to child porn, the one you BEGGED a judge to give probation?
"Spotlight" shows how difficult it is to get the truth out of an organized crime syndicate. A team of Boston journalists worked tirelessly to find out that the Catholic church knowingly was running a massive organized childrape crime syndicate in Boston and around the world back in a time when the Catholic had a powerful influence. It also shows how Catholic followers tried to help the church get away with it.
Make no mistake, this is a movie about organized crime, featuring the Catholic church, the largest organized childrape crime syndicate in the history of the US, and in BRUTAL defiance of Jesus in Matt 18:6-14, where Jesus said childrape was unforgivable.
The Catholic church's organized crime syndicate is worse than Whitey Bulger's from Black Mass. This movie shows how the Catholic church exhibited the same "code of silence" that the mafia has, without the honor, as they were protecting at least 249 "confessed" pedo-priests in Boston.
Whitey Bulger killed 20 adults. The creepy pedo-priests in the Catholic church raped over 1,000 children in Boston alone, thanks to at least 249 pedophile priests, hidden and protected by hundreds of other priests, including Cardinal Law. (Only 90 were known at the time of the movie, but credits at the end show 249).
The Catholic church admitted 4,329 substantiated, accused pedophile priests in the US in their own John Jay report of 2004, and of course they lied. The number is well over 6,900.
And the Catholic church hid & protected 100% of their known pedo-priests, worldwide (Matt 18:6-14). Cowardly, rampant, unforgivable evil, in brutal defiance of Jesus, has a name, and it is the Catholic church.
We hope everyone will see the "Spotlight" movie. Tragically these crimes and cover ups within the Catholic church around the world continue to this day.

Great review of an outstanding movie - except you must know, there is nothing pathetic about Phil Saviano! The man is a hero and person of great dignity. FYI.
Fortunately, I saw the film weeks ago so this review(?) did not spoil it for me. But I can see that it makes little sense to read these reviews if you plan to see a film.
stuffed if i know what movie this prick watched, certainly not the one i just did. clearly a 9/10
That was a great review. I went in, saw all the personalities, the time and place. I understood what was wrong with their world and could relate to it. I can't help it either in spending money on a lunch I am eating out, rather than at home before I go to a job that asks me to work harder and faster.
Too bad they cast Joseph Gordon-Levitt in the lead!I couldn't watch a 30 second ad with him, much less the length of a feature film. But to add to that the cultural differences between him and Petit? Truly terrible casting.
More than anything, the Black Panthers were about Black nationalism. That message is often lost in Americas rewrite of history. They promoted the importance of early childhood education, nutrition, family values and economic independence. They wanted Black people to start their own businesses and to recirculate their dollars in their own community as opposed to giving it away. Moreover, they promoted self definition, confidence and pride in being Black. They also wanted America to know that the constitutional right to arm themselves and be responsible for their own self defense applies to everybody. I remember the Panthers following OPD around making sure that cops followed the law when they stopped Black people. As an African American growing up in East Oakland in the 60's, Huey Newton was my inspiration for academic achievement. Because of Huey, I read socialist literature like Chairman Mao's Red Book, but also great Black literature from Langston Hughes and James Baldwin. That exposure to serious subject matter at 12-15 years of age gave me the confidence and comprehension skills for later academic success at the University of California and a lifelong thirst for reading. My attitude entering the University was not wow, look at all these smart white kids. It was here I am, yes I am Black and also proud, smart and ready to compete with anybody here. The power of their message was so dangerous to America that the conspiracy by the FBI broke many laws, including murder, to ensure their destruction. Remember that drugs quickly saturated the Black community immediately after the Panthers were destroyed. That too was and is a national conspiracy, supported by the entire legal system to promote the genocide and incarceration of Black men. The film is important because the positive impact of the Black Panthers should not be lost in the delusional spin of history.
just because something is animated does not automagically make it "something for the kiddos" it is this kind of limited thinking that has held animation back for so long.
