Listened to both of these. Truly some original music, Gully has a real talent, and great to see someone doing something different in the rap game. Looking forward to the third!

Janis - I'm just going to point out that lil b himself clarifies that his negative and misogynistic lyrics are neither satire nor parody in the following paragraphs. I think that Nastia's line of questioning and reasoning with B himself actually clarifies and illuminates this glaring contrast for perhaps the first time and I've read a lot of lil b thinkpieces. Thanks for this thoughtful interview!
"On one hand, there are tracks like "All Women" from his mixtape Rain in England, on which he celebrates women of all ages, ethnicities, shapes, and sizes, rhyming, Have you appreciated a woman's knowledge?/Pay attention to her comments. But then there are farcically offensive lyrics on songs such as "Swag My Bitch Up" — on which Lil B says I respect women/And I respect all people/But I don't love hoes/They suck dick and they're evil — or "Murder Rate," where he raps If you don't twerk we gon' up the murder rate.
As a listener, it's sometimes difficult to mediate these mixed messages or decide when to take Lil B seriously. So is he playing different characters?"
It's called satire&parody, u dip
When is Fanatik-J going to release this album. I heard that he successfully sued the label and that he was going to release the real album.
It's unfortunate that by time I got to Ticketmaster the show was sold out. However, this after party should really be something to remember. I'm bringing my niece to introduce her to the scene. Show her how a lady navigates in a hip hop crowd. Tomorrow night will be epic, in more ways than one!
Afrikatown garden has won the fight against Gentrification so far. Thats why I love Oakland man. I love the spirit of Oakland's black community. I love how they think. The black people in Oakland have a certain conscious mindset unlike nowhere else. The best and brightest the African Descent America has to offer the world has come out of America for well over 50 years. Its the home of the Black Panthers, Too Short, Angela Davis, Toni Tone Tone, En Vogue, and home to many successful black owned businesses that have stood the test of time. Its home to a large black middle class, and a new generation of black activists carrying on an old tradition of fighting for social justice with a new energy that is reflective in not only marches and protests but in agricultural activism, community and civic engagement, and business ownership. Now matter Oakland keeps fighting back. They rally not only against police brutality, but also against gun violence amongst youth, and other issues. Oakland's black community never gives up. They keep fighting and don't stop till they get victory. And they get it. Go Oaktown.
Here is one of HOTTUB's mix tapes ! Enjoy! Xoxox, lollipop 💕
Here's a link to two songs with Heiko's lyrics and Bill's music.
If you only wanted to listen to dense and pointless meandering nonsense like Twigs, you could've just stayed in your Academy of Art Dorm room
Wow- I guess you're not into indie rock. May want to try to not be so biased. Some of the bands on Sunday were amazing- like Viet Cong & Father John Misty...The National is an amazingly talented, cohesive band.
This write up seems bias and negative. It is what it is. Maybe the stages need to be synced up so good local acts aren't missed. Give Respect to the Roots Families in Reggae and Give Thanks for their presence in Oakland!
This type of pick is called a "plectrum" or guitar pick. The left hand holds the neck of the guitar while the fingers pluck the strings. Different finger positions on the fretboard make different notes.
