Re: “Pivotal Pot Meeting at Fort Mason This Weekend

Meanwhile, about 2 miles away, a federal grand inquest sits investigating the taxation and control of marijuana in Mendo, and it appears to be the lower government that is the target , not the growers who paid, but the government that set up the program, and those that signed off on it. Recently a visit with the Attorney General of the United States and the Governor of Wa. State, left the Governor saying, I have received no further enlightenment than what I knew before I arrived in D.C.; meaning that the fed's showed the Governor the federal drug statues, something he could of reviewed in Olympia himself . Another words, they told him nothing of 'their' plans. One thing is certain, should they indict in Mendo, for either taxing marijuana or regulating it there, then the same fate will happen in every state that does so, not just Cali-and be it medical cannabis or recreational cannabis taxes, it will make no difference. This will be a huge body blow to the general cannabis legalization movement as well as compassionate use, and one that did not ever have to happen, as we were warned as early as 1996, when the then attorney general Janet Reno warned, no lower government involvement. It then is my view , that many more like myself, will soon wish we heeded those warnings, as myself and founding leadership have for almost two decades.

Re: “The Emerald Cup Crowns the New King of Humboldt

"King Of Humboldt"...??? What bullshit...Only the public event took place in Humboldt County, the actual judges meetings were still in Mendocino County, where it all started...

You city slickers really are a joke, talking about perilous drives and villages that look like something out of a cult movie...this OUR home, and we just laugh at the descriptions you city slickers seem willing to bestow on us...

Re: “The Truth About Medical Marijuana Card Privacy

This is a very informative article. I know many smokers (and even growers) that still fear getting a medical medical license.

I would emphasis the fact that California only requires a doctor’s recommendation (which could actually be verbal, although not recommended). The state issued card is basically overkill and is not recommended especially for a medical marijuana patient that doesn’t have their own grow.

Check out http://www.californiadispensaryinfo.com/gu… for more information on California medical marijuana collectives and tips for patients.

Re: “The 2012 Legalization Nation Index

I don't believe Snoop Dogg or anyone else smokes 81 joints a day. You'd have to be smoking constantly. After a short while it would cease to be pleasant. You simply can't keep smoking pot all day like that. Three joints an hour 24 hours a day seven days a week? Who believes that?

Re: “Colorado and Washington Legalization Explained

"If the feds succeed in dismantling the state's regulatory structure, the feds would have to own the ensuing chaos. It would be pretty bad politics."

What chaos? This is about one State(while the Fed deals with it), one portion of the voters.
The Fed conviently influences everything seen on Tv, where the rest of the country
gets the vast portion of the news, the Fed avoids any noteriety at every step on issues and MSM has already started making 'fun' of the issue of MJ deliberations in Wa. and Co., so expect don't expect any slack, cooperation, indepth analysis or pro reporting from MSM..

Politics- There can only one political lean, which will lean more strongly the closer the Politician is to Federal influence. As such the support for the Politicians comes from the top down, not the voters up... when dealing with State rights where the Fed is in contrast. For the bulk of the Politicians, being anti.. and at most any opportunity.. will be an inherent 'good thing' for their carreer as again, the bulk of involved Politicians' are either at the Fed level with their mandates to stop MJ, or at the level where the next step up in their carreers is to the Fed level-which they will not wish to alienate.

I'm hoping for this State issue to be one that sets presidence on State Rights, but with power concentrating, ever more, to fewer people, running the country from a centralized Fed Govt., I am not going to hold my breath.

Re: “Harborside and Oaksterdam Don't Attract Crime

I would suggest dispensary's actually reduce crime in their areas. Street dealers are like cockroaches, they prefer to operate in the shadows and scurry away from the light. Recently here in Portland, Oregon, local cops raided and shut down the "Human Collective" that has operated for several years without incident. This last Spring, it was toured by our new state attorney-general, Ellen Rosenblum, a Democrat, and Oregon Rep. Andy Olson, House Republican leader. Both endorsed the Collective and its operation.
Now, word on the street that crime and violence in the area have increased, including a "drug related" murder. Another report indicates dealers have staked out the now empty building offering pot and even giving away free samples of heroin to kids.

Re: “Marijuana Legalization: What Everyone Should Know

Pot has been de facto legal in Alaska since the mid 70's. Alaska has not fallen off the earth or had epidemics of the pot smoking maladies that prohibitionists claim will happen. I hope all 3 states legalize it.

Re: “Harborside Health Center Faces Raids, Epic Legal Battle

If you support Harborside please sign their petition online. Go to http://saveharborside.org/, there is a link to the petition on the top right of the main page. You can also view videos and read about what has been going on.

They need all the help they can get in the face of massive federal pressure. The Feds have been abusing their power for too long, trampling on State's rights, they have seriously crossed a line here coming after a collective that is fully following state law.

To anyone who says, "dispensaries should know they are breaking Federal law and should be shut down," Martin Luther King and Rosa Parks broke the law quite a bit as well, would you have similarly said they should be "shut down?" Civil disobedience is how we stand up to a corrupt government that refuses to recognize our rights. The existence of a medical cannabis industry is a major action of civil disobedience, attempting to change the laws of this country back to how they once were. When this country was founded, many of the founders smoked pot and the majority had to grow hemp BY LAW in the colonies (read the Emperor Wears No Clothes, by Jack Herer). Let us return to being an America that embraces personal freedom, and an America that embraces science.

Re: “Hundreds March for Harborside

I thought the final quote nailed it to a tee. I think t's even worth repeating:
"Whoever pays more money will win the election," he said. "It could be Obama, it could be the KKK. Marijuana is not the issue in this country. Federal authorities are making it an issue."
Meditate on it.

Re: “Hundreds March for Harborside

Vote Gary Johnson!

Will advocate legalization, job growth record of 11.6%, ACLU civil liberties score of 21/24 (beat's Obama's score of 16/24), balanced the budget all 8 years as governor of New Mexico, took the state out of a $1 billion deficit hole and built up a $1 billion surplus, cut taxes 14 times, for gay marriage to be recognized across state line, Federally (while Obama will let state discriminate, like North Carolina).

Why would anyone want to vote for a drone killing, "Terrorist Tuesday", NDAA signing -Due Process suspending, triple time Patriot Act renewing, CISPA supporting guy like Obama?

Johnson will end the Patriot Act, repeal NDAA and restore Due Process, veto CISPA and any legislation where the gov't tries to control/censor the Internet and will definitely never use drones to kill people on a whim across the world.

Re: “Hundreds March for Harborside

Harborside offers alternative medical treatments such as chiropracty, yoga, smoking cessation, growing and cooking classes. They are successful because they test their members cannabis so you know what you are getting.
they are the model for dispensaries of all those I`ve been to in N.Cal. they are the best.
