Re: “Marijuana Jobs in High Demand

'fully legal' what does that mean? as opposed to quasi-legal in the past . . .

Re: “Oakland May Green-Light Eight New Pot Clubs a Year

We all have to be careful with Dept. of Alcohol Beverage Control of California. Their law enforcement division is only 9 years old but it runs by a bunch of corrupted officers. They also worked with DHS to splits the heavy fines. Dept. of ABC of Cali recruited many ex-gang members (trained by DHS) to set marijuana traps inside businesses so they can imposed heavy fine on owners. Marijuana is their cash cow and they won't give it up with out a fight.

Re: “It's Official: Marijuana Is Medicine

Actually, the AMA did not take a position on cannibus in 1937. In congressional discussion of the pending legislation, the question was asked about where AMA stood. The response was that the AMA was supportive of the legislation. The AMA president, however, later asserted that the AMA was never asked.

Re: “Alameda County Fast-Tracks Medical Pot Ban

I am writing in regards to Fairfield/Vacaville rolling back Policy 452 that gave medical cannabis patients the right to cultivate, as a citizen and a medical cannabis patient, I do not believe this new approach of outlawing all medical cannabis patients right to cultivate will have a positive effect on our communities.
As a matter of fact it could and probably will have a negative effect on our communities as noted below:
Black market cannabis = Cannabis grown for the explicit reason to make money, there are folks that are growing black market cannabis with medical cannabis recommendations (which is illegal under California Medical Cannabis Law) , they use this as a first line of defense, but if there were no medical cannabis laws they would still be growing black market cannabis, so in essence there are really two markets that appear to be mixed up when these cities made their decisions, Black Market Cannabis and Medical Cannabis....
The price for Black Market Cannabis (the exact same strains that are available at Cannabis Dispensaries) is anywhere from 50% -70% of the price charged at Cannabis Dispensaries, these are the prices on our community streets. I will also point out that every time there is a drug bust involving Black Market Cannabis, there are always other substance involved ie Meth, Heroin and Cocaine
Due to economic conditions we could very well be pushing Genuine Medical Cannabis patients to purchase black market cannabis that will fuel not only the Black Market Cannabis, but also Meth, Heroin and cocaine in our communities that will also be available to our children..........
Another point that I thing has to taken into consideration, is that due to the permitting process of the new regulations that the State put together to move forward with the industry, there are going to be growers who in the past sold to dispensaries are not going to be able to qualify/permitted to sell to dispensaries, do the City Govts. think that these growers are going to throw their cannabis away, I think it goes on the street driving the price of black market cannabis lower making it more attractive for medical cannabis patients who are on financial margins.
I just do not think this latest approach taken by our local Govts. Is in the best interest of ALL of the citizens of our cities including our children….. and I do not believe that cultivating medical cannabis by qualified medical cannabis patients has that great of a negative impact on our community, it should be a give and take issue, ie outlaw indoor medical cannabis gardens (life/safety, impact on electrical grid and most of all contact with children), permit the outdoor cultivation and limit to 4 plants, how hard is that….

Re: “Alameda County Fast-Tracks Medical Pot Ban

I am happy that there appears to be solidarity of the players going forward with hopefully only one initiative hitting the ballot box come Nov. I will say that I think that the authors got it wrong in regard to personal cultivation, I believe that the City's should be able to restrict indoor grows and be mandated to allow outdoor grows.....................think about it and all of the issues concerning cultivation and the overall impacts.

Re: “Alameda County Fast-Tracks Medical Pot Ban

The sunset language added yesterday to the Alameda County medical marijuana ordinance (ban) reads: “This ordinance shall be repealed by its own terms upon the adoption of state legislation repealing or eliminating the March 1, 2016 deadline in Health and Safety Code section 11362.777c4.” Cal NORML suggests this be added to any pending ordinance.

And,ALL people oncarcerated for marijuna, should be pardoned and their sentences commuted NOW.
MAYBE the feds want to wait until they can put in a rider that former inmates cannot sue for false improsonment.

Re: “It's Official: Marijuana Is Medicine

These conflicting media reports on the same subject make it very hard for those of us who don't understand all the medical and legal mumbo jumbo wording to form a fact based opinion on any subject!

Most uses of medical marijuana aren't supported by solid evidence from clinical trials, JAMA review finds! A comprehensive review of dozens of clinical trials that have tested medical marijuana for 10 conditions finds that there’s very little reliable evidence to support the drug’s use. The review, by an international team of researchers, was published Tuesday in the Journal of the American Medical Assn. June 23, 2015
