Re: “Skyfall

100% right on. Bardem's performance makes this one of the best Bond films ever,

Re: “Argo

No, it's really not a far-fetched popcorn-patriotic flick at all. And, in fact, more than a little blame for the incident is laid on the US for harboring the Shah who had committed atrocities against the Iranian people. That aside, at it's heart, it's just a really good story. And even more remarkable because it's based (however loosely) on true events.

Re: “The Master

“The controversial new movie, “The Master,” is described as a forbidden look into the life of L. Ron Hubbard, the founder of the Church of Scientology. Author Steve Hassan, of “Freedom of Mind,” spoke to the “CBS This Morning: Saturday” co-hosts about the movie and why it’s got Scientologists up in arms.”:

Re: “For a Good Time, Call ...

I prefer nice young Jewish actors like Logan Lerman, Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Anton Yelchin, etc.

Re: “Bernie

"Texas Pity Twister"? Brilliant, Mr. Vance. Great to see one survivor still standing from the Express's glory days (whenever those happened to be).

Re: “Snow White and the Huntsman

Just suffered through this turkey and couldn't agree more with this review. I wasn't the only one in the audience to find themselves laughing at scenes not intended to be funny. There was no spark between Snow White and either of her suitors not to mention Snow's charge to the castle looked like bad Monty Python or something from Medieval Times. Waste of a perfectly good 2 hours.

Re: “Snow White and the Huntsman

"Everyone in the film has at least one scar, especially in the all-female village Snow White visits, where the women have banded together for protection from marauding men -- the scars are ostensibly to make them less attractive to potential rapists."

DId you actually see this movie? They scarred themselves for protection from the Queen, not men. I thought it was a pretty interesting point. Without beauty, they were nothing to her.

Re: “Damsels in Distress

Hi Kelly,

Whit Stillman's first movie is not "Cosmopolitan" as you erroneously state but "Metropolitan".
His lastest movie "Damsels in Distress" is as delightful as his previous movies, and although it can appear frivolous at the beginning, it deepens and gets richer, it is highly poetic. All the cast is fantastic, and Greta Gerwig is luminescent. I watched the movie from beginning to end with a big smile, appreciating each lines, bigger ideas and spirit. Highly recommended!

Re: “The Hunger Games

I'm dragging my husband to the Hunger Games this afternoon ... thanks to your review I'm confident that he won't feel that the movie is going to be another "Twilight" adventure.

I loved the books and look forward to seeing the novels come to life on the big screen.

Re: “California Crude

I'm no critic, but this review is awful. Most of it isn't even about the actual film. I'm pretty sure I could do your job better than you
