I ate there several months ago with my son and it was absolutely delicious and the pairing was spot on.

Best pate? Birds raised for pate are kept in small, crowded pens to limit movement. A metal nozzle attached to a pressurized hose forcefully and repeatedly injects cornmeal mush down the birds' throat. This enlarges the birds' livers to 6-8 times the normal size. The process continues until the birds are so damaged and then die a painful death. Wolfgang Puck one of the biggest producers of pate gave up making it a couple of years ago because of the cruelty. Still think there is such a thing as the "best pate. No such thing.
Lush Gelato is also open and serving many flavors at their store at the back of Epicurious Garden, 1511 Shattuck Ave. in Berkeley (across the street from the Cheeseboard).
I have yet to try the restaurant so I cannot say yea or nay. However I can say nay to the naming of the title, "taming the devilish spices". Why is the paper associating the devil with something of Africa? Regardless of one's religious leaning or lack of things associated with the devil tend to be negative. Whether written by staffer or reader I expect more from Eastbay Express.
It's a lovely space, with awesome people, but, yes, it's the coffee we come here for! Absolutely amazing!
I'm pretty sure it's Healdsburg, not Humboldt, but damn that coffee gets me high...
Teance in Berkeley is best!
It's not the Sacramento River, it's Suisun Bay. And thank you for including their hours of operation in your report! It shows great journalistic integrity! Now your readers can travel all the way out there and be surprised that it is closed! What fun!
I'm moving to Oakland from SF thanks to Mama Buzz. I only wish Farley's East were as fun as her counterpart.
great place, great article, thank you
So exciting to see this article! The HTC has such a diverse selection of alcohol for unbeatable prices, shuffleboard table, and taco truck (now Thurs - Sun). Not to mention the owners and staff are just down-to-earth great people : )
Slow down a bit with the enthusiasm for Glenview. Bellanico and Marzano are both good, and nicely priced, but the menus are too similar and the dishes have a certain uniformity. We need a broader, more original California cuisine in Glenview. Where are the mussels, crab, eel or smoked fish? Quail, snails, boar or rabbit? Avocados, turnips, walnuts, pears, ginger, coriander, lavender, citrus? Glenview is still too safe for really adventurous foodies, and I speak as someone who lives, and eats, there.
I have been to Chef Devon's dinners and he is amazing. Most chefs are shy or arrogant. Devon is the perfect blend of confidence and talent.
Get me to thee! Do you offer mail order deliveries?
Even compare to other Japanese restaurant which is expensive,
Still GETA is the Best !!!
I.m from Japan.
Ask for Christina!
For a bartender with these same qualities in the Oakland area - visit Maxwell's Lounge. On Saturday evenings and some Fridays you will find me there - the vixen of cocktail mixing.
Nice little advertising for your boyfriends cafe. I heard you have a crush on the owner of Rooz and you're mad 'cause he doesn't play on your team. Move on pal..... Be gone Dan, Be gone......
