Re: “Eleanor Roosevelt's Great Lesbian Love Affair

After being in relationship with Smith for six years,he broke up with me, I did everything possible to bring him back but all was in vain, I wanted him back so much because of the love I have for him, I begged him with everything, I made promises but he refused. I explained my problem to someone online and she suggested that I should rather contact a spell caster that could help me cast a spell to bring him back but I am the type that never believed in spell, I had no choice than to try it, I mailed the spell caster, and he told me there was no problem that everything will be okay before three days, that my ex will return to me before three days, he cast the spell and surprisingly in the second day, it was around 3pm. My ex called me, I was so surprised, I answered the call and all he said was that he was so sorry for everything that happened, that he wanted me to return to him, that he loves me so much. I was so happy and went to him, that was how we started living together happily again. Since then, I have made promise that anybody I know that have a relationship problem, I would be of help to such person by referring him or her to the only real and powerful spell caster Dr Thabani, who helped me with my own problem and who is different from all the fake ones out there. you can contact him on drthabanispellcaster@gmail.com, you can email him if you need his assistance in your relationship or anything he also help me to win $10,000 for lotto game.I CAN NEVER STOP TALKING ABOUT YOU SIR HIS EMAIL: drthabanispellcaster@gmail.com Or whatassp +27826439617.

Re: “Ubuntu's 'Hurt Village' Hits Home

Sounds like a play that need to come into the Chicago area in the auditorium of Chicago Career Academy. Where high schools students and 6-8 students can see with their parents the reality of our ghettos. We are experiencing a holocaust and this play seems to be a beacon of light to the people in lower socioeconomic neighborhoods. Great job Katori. Chaz Shermil your eyes in this piece is telling. Great job.

Interesting how little fact.. was hidden. What else ?
Pretty sad comment on complicit journalism & spin doctors.

Re: “Marcus Gardley's Memories of West Oakland

The play is fantastic. The writing, the acting, the singing will cradle you in this 125 year old theatrical space that has deep roots in Oakland. A talented cast of 18 put out an amazing feast. Go see it!

Re: “The Writhing on the Wall

Very, very minor quibble... Gilman did not write the story in 1892, but in 1890 (actually, on this exact date in 1890 as I write this). It took her some time to find a publisher. See: http://americanliteraryblog.blogspot.com/2010/06/gilman-color-is-repellant.html

Re: “If These Walls Could Mime

It's Michele Owen and Christina Shonkwiler as the two clown/Beckett characters and Sango Tajima as the bumblebee/sweepstakes host for the Malibu piece.

Re: “Funny Escapism Never Goes Out of Style

I did not find the comment about the same-sex couple homophobic at all. As a gay male, I was actually surprised the line was written and found it funny. I thought it was ahead of its time. Also, let us not forget the "It's Pat" sketch on SNL. Not to mention all the other "crazy" people that were mentioned that live in the same apartment building. I found the play, while sitcomie, reminded me of my spouse and me...I am married to a Paul. And the line "even when I didn't like you...I still loved you" made me tear up...ok I am a crier :) Good review.

Let's hope the run is extended at the Berkeley City Club. A second wind on the East Coast would be even better!

Re: “Review: An Audience with Meow Meow at Berkeley Rep Is Not Quite Purrfect

The promo that BRT sent out on this show was so completely snoozers that I wasn't even remotely tempted to part with my hard-earned $$. Do we really need another self-absorbed, hyperhetero/drag queen in genetic female clothing - flashback to the 80's anybody? But thanks for the review, which confirmed that I'd dodged a bullet, i.e. total irreversible coma in a theatre seat. You can almost hear the little wheels a churnin' at the BRT board meeting "we've got to get the (YOUNGER) men with high tech pockets in here people?!?"

Re: “Review: Aurora Theatre's 'A Bright New Boise'

Read this one instead. Anna Pulley is just too smug and cynical to get this play...

Re: “Cal Shake's 'Lady Windermere's Fan' Is Far Too Serious

i agree that Kitchens' performance is "distractingly overwrought". Otherwise, this review is mostly offbase. I enjoyed the show but I thought that Darlington seemed like a Judy Garland fanboy in the first act, and a completely different person in the second. Ross was flawless.

Re: “Cal Shake's 'Lady Windermere's Fan' Is Far Too Serious

Maybe you should learn a little more theatrical history. Lady Windermere's Fan was written as a drama. You seem to be the only reviewer to not get that. Perhaps the play is just to erudite for you.
