Oakland, Berkeley, And East Bay News, Events, Restaurants, Music, & Arts
On the one hand, people should have to live with the consequences of their drunken ravie days, but on the other hand, as long it remains expensive and time consuming, well, I guess that'll have to do. Any IPO date inked in yet? I'd like to get in early.
Sandpaper. A power sander makes the process so much easier and faster, I recommend one of the sanders with a bag attached to catch the skin flakes, unless you just want to feed the mites in your carpet.
Skip the coarse and go straight to a 120 grit medium -- this is your skin we're talking about here. Move to a fine, then very fine. You won't want to go any further than that, unless you're going for the high gloss look.
Next week -- Home Dentistry.
Were the FBI or Interpol trying to run me down, I sure as hell wouldn't want "Hello Kitty tattoo on left forearm" on the APB. No distinguishing marks...that's my motto.
What about the Yoga Room in Berkeley? One of the oldest and most respected programs in the Bay Area. The founder, Donald Moyer, can legitimately be called a Master of Yoga, in part because he understands and teaches that yoga is more than asana. It is about finding ourselves on the deepest level and living the precept of compassion with presence. Judith Hanson Lasater, Ph.D, PT, yoga teacher since 1971.
Hey, they can change their lives without taxpayer support. They CHOSE to do drugs, they can taper off on their own.
Great news for a change !
I've never done it, but I've talked to people who say it's addictive. Once you get one, you need to get a matching one on the other side, and pretty soon you're covered in them. And then they have to be "renewed" and refreshed as the colors fade. Even people in their 70s and beyond are getting them. Nobody seems to think much about trying to have them removed later if they change their minds. :)
What's the impulse behind putting this banal stuff all over your body for ever? Nearly all of it would get you a well deserved mauling should you paint on anyone's car for free.

What a great article about the resourcefulness of our creative community. I'm looking forward to connecting with people such as these at CCE 2011 (http://www.creativeconferencewest.com/)!
Thanks for such an informative article. It is great to live in a time where the individual can use technology and social media to create more opportunities for themselves.
Cannabis Training University give the best educational experience that the industry has seen to date. Very professionally done, well organized, excellent information. My wife and I attended in Sacramento a couple moths ago and were very impressed with them.
So you went to school for an English Degree and you're daughter is a social worker? And you wonder if you should spend more money going back to school to get another useless degree? Why not go back to school and get a degree that might actually be usable in the workplace. Go be a doctor or a nurse, or, take that English degree and become an educator. Don't whine about the high cost of education when you're the one at fault for choosing a degree that doesn't pay very well in the real world.
I have been teaching a professional practices course for 10 years at CalArts as well as across the country. I started a company that provides support services and information to artists on the business of art. We have also created software and publications to better inform artists of what they need to know to help determine their careers on their own terms. We have over 500 pages of FREE information on our website at http://www.gyst-ink.com. We also have a professional practices blog, GYST Radio, a newsletter and more.
