Hey Rachel This is Rashinel from Hobo Junction. Great article. I have always loved your articles best of luck to you. See you are around
Yes, Thadeus is the real deal. Probably one of the best front man I have ever seen. I feel sorry for the bands that have to follow Electric Sister. Its great to see that he never gave up on rock n roll because now its all paying off. Nice article, Kathleen!
Such a smart goodbye. Always floored by your talent, Rachel. Good luck!
Chinaka, you are a rare talent.
Ms. Charlip -- yes! Lunch! I hope you are being paid handsomely and garnering many great teacher awards.
Slav -- thank you!
As always, appreciative of your even handed, thoughtful criticism of our beloved art. As a critic and one reviewed, I'll miss your insight dearly. That said, I'm juiced for whatever comes next. Thanks for always bigging me up. I owe you an arm or two.
As your old high school English teacher, I'd say, well, it's time to have lunch again! More importantly however your contributions to our local culture are going to be missed. As one of Your Devoted Readers, I certainly look forward to your next venture, may it continue to be in the writing world and through your laser sharp, critical lens, your droll sense of humor, crazy compassion in unearthing the most desperate urgent voices in music. Call me.
What a great article! Awesome reading references about our scene of old (I loved Silent Film Stars). Great writing. Keep it up.

How is eMusic, from the musicians' point of view? As a (non-musician) fan, I like it for greater variety than iTunes, and at a lower cost, but I'd like to make sure that the artists I love are getting, if not a truly fair cut, at least no worse than they'd do elsewhere. Not much on social, at all, though.
Very well written bio...loved it!
it is true that when she goes to movies, it is seldom, but when she does, it's for avant garde pieces like, "cedar rapids." love you gal! excellent profile.
This is an excellent profile of one of the Bay's brightest talents. Thanks for writing it!
Crazy cause I was playing "NEW DAY RISING" on vinyl then Bob popped up on the tube with David Letterman, love the new sound!
A special thank you to everyone involved with MCO: Miguel Viveiros, Jon Lady, Laura McCaul, Marshall Brooks, Jerry Bold, Nicole Leigh, Mike Melero, Spenser Cooper, Alison Stevenson, Alejandro Archuleta, Guthrie Seigman, Jon Hrabko, and Jeff Ray!!!! This isn't possible without them! Also - to the folks at Endless Canvass for letting us list their massive event on the MCO calendar!
Less thesaurus browsing, more listening, please.
I have been a fan for years! So happy to see them hitting scene!!!
For the record, I don't have a goatee and never have had one. And the next album Vacation was recorded 1/2 on 2" tape and 1/2 on protools. 8^{b
