Re: “Vote With Us! The East Bay Express' Endorsements for Election Day 2016

I GOT CURED OF HERPES AFTER USING DR OOSA HERBAL MEDICINE.

I caught genital herpes from my ex boyfriend who never had any symptoms. I have had it for 4 months now,and it has affected my life. I have told my husband who I trusted about it and I have never had a bad reaction, it has affected my new relationships with my husband. People think herpes is really a minor skin irritation herpes has a long term effects on health. The stigma attached to this virus by ignorant people is ridiculous. Most people have herpes in one form or another. I would like to advise people on how i get rid of my herpes.i was reading a comment on the internet, and i saw a testimony posted by a woman from island that she get rid of her herpes with the help of doctor oosa. so i was so happy when i saw that post, that his herbal medication is free.i quickly collect the herbal doctor email and i email him within 5 hr he respond to my email.i explain things to him he told me not to worry that i should fill his herbal form wish i did.he only request for little money that he will use to buy the items for the preparation of the herbal medicine, wish i send to him because the pain was too much for me to bear.after some days he told me that he has prepare the herbal medicine, that i should send him my address that he want to sent it to me via skyhills courier service that was how i got the herbal medication.and i use it as i was told.after few days i found out that my herpes was no more.when some of my friend who has herpes saw me they were surprise and i also introduce them to the man and they are also cure from the same herpes.if you have herpes, kindly contact doctor oosa via this email doctoroosaherbalhome@gmail.com . i know people might be wondering why posting such things online but i am gland and i want each and everyone living with herpes to know that there's herpes cure because i have suffer for so many years searching for this cure.

Re: “Will Public Cannabis Smoking Clubs Arrive In California?

At 73 I'm limited in my social contacts with tokers because my age group has a low percentage of Cannabis users and just like parents with toddlers always under foot I sometimes have the need to associate with adults I have experiences in common with. I have a hard time picturing the American Legion(who has come out for medical Cannabis) dedicating a smoking lounge for a low percentage of Cannabis users but where there's a need it will somehow get filled. There's nothing like the camaraderie
that sometimes develops among strangers from passing a pipe or joint around. Unfortunately there's nothing like the idea of 'Norml'izing the use of the herb that makes the Ozzie and Harriet crowd see red.
So the next time you go to thank a Vet for our service how about helping to ensure the freedoms we fought for and let us socialize and also grow our own.

Re: “Letters of the Week: Skepticism of a Public Bank in Oakland

Bill H., if you get the average $1200/ month SS insurance which you paid for, how can you pay $1000/month for rent and live? Oh, you say, rent a room in someone else's home?OK so $700-1000: no space to work, cook, have privacy, have any things (they are often looking for college students who come with a suitcase!, often you can't have visitors, age biases are there, too. And 3 floor walk-ups, not so great for seniors/ disabled... and usually no comfort companions. Up to $3000 move in charge. Rentals only open briefly during spring- mid summer, then gone to the captive students who will pay what is asked and then sleep 2-3 to a room. So, yes, then you are homeless... So WHO doesn't understand the problem, Bill? Housing First is the way to address the mental health and drug (self-medication) use issues, which are as often the RESULT of high stress, insufficient good food and other resources, minimal community support. Basically: lack of stability from which to re-create a life.

Can't wait for a social club like this is opened. I'd love to meet some of the wonderful people I've met thru social media in real life.

Re: “Legion of Bloom Terrapen Vaporizer Hits Smooth And Looks Slick.

During that chat with your editor I suggest you ask for a bit more space so you can explain this device's approach yourself rather than relying on its not-quite-English website blurb. I haven't learned a thing about it except that it takes cartridges -- which, I assume but still don't know, are formulated from strains that have high concentrations of specific terpenes. How is this anything but a lazy product plug?

I think the hongos (mushroom) burrito is the best thing they have. Many a place I've eaten at in MX serve mushrooms. Not so much the taquerias in the US...Try it, you'll like it...

In the Grand Lake neighborhood, Grand Lake Kitchen will have a special cocktail list and will donate $2 for each one purchased. At Lin Jia Asian Kitchen, they'll donate $2 when you purchase any of their special menu items and the owner will also match that amount.

Mr. Jerry Udanski, the Venezuelan economy is oil dependent and hence the drop in oil prices has devastated their economy. You are a relative newbie to Oakland, BTW. Some of us who subscribe are born and raised in the East Bay which makes me a native, hint can you name the First Raider playing field:)? Do you know what large international food chain started in Oakland:)?? Cheers Harbor Bay Isle anyone:)??

Re: “Oakland Councilmembers Accuse Mayor Schaaf of 'Bait and Switch' With Soda Tax Revenue

Relative to this point above...." While seemingly ignoring the absolutely essential, day to day issues for the city of Oakland." This comment was aimed at Annie Campbell and another council member. I would like to attest as a resident in Annie Campbell's district to her hands on approach to our local concerns. For example when the community pushed back against the incursion of a massage parlor into a primarily residential area in the Allendale Park neighborhood she stepped in to facilitate direct action. This is ongoing but her willingness to take on a gritty grass roots issue like this speaks to a level of integrity and caring that should not be taken for granted.

Reading up in this chain ... I see that Charlie Pine wrote something very similar. In fact more succinctly. I agree with Charlie!

Re: “Oakland Councilmembers Accuse Mayor Schaaf of 'Bait and Switch' With Soda Tax Revenue

I just looked at the original proposal and specifically the language therein related to the disbursement of these funds. I recommend that you all do this as it provides some insight. From what I can discern from reading the measure .... It appears to identify the general fund as the designated bucket into which this revenue would flow. At the very least it is very ambiguously worded if this was not the case. If this was NOT the intention of the folks who authored the measure they should have been far more careful in the way in which it was written in respect to this detail. Assigning blame accordingly seems to speak more to political motivation than it does to any legitimate outrage in my view.

Re: “City of Oakland to Settle Wrongful Attempted-Murder Conviction for $300,000

Oh, please. The Alameda County DA's office is dirty as all hell. Brady violations are nothing to them; they do that to everyone if they possibly can, and routinely get away with it. They violated Brady with me too, and a hell of a lot more than that. Magistrate judge must be incredibly naive, to believe DA version of this. Anyone familiar with Alameda County DA tactics would NEVER believe them about ANYTHING.

Re: “Oakland Schools’ Special Education Reading Clinic May Close Due to Budget Cuts

Meanwhile in Berkeley, lawsuits are filed against the district for failing to teach students with learning disabilities how to read: http://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20170502006972/en/Students-Reading-Disorders-Sue-Berkeley-Unified-School

With the reading clinic, Oakland has a program in place that complies with California A.B. 1369, that requires school districts provide dyslexic students with an evidence-based, multi-sensory, direct, explicit, structured, and sequential approach to instruction.

Instead of expanding the reading clinic program and avoiding future litigation, OUSD decides to eliminate the program.

If only this wasn't so typical of Oakland School leadership.

Re: “Supporter of Controversial Israeli Settlements Would Benefit from Exclusive Oakland Public Land Deal

This article is a shameless hit piece, not journalism. The issue has to do with whether the proposed project is worthwhile for Oakland. If you are going to question the background of all investors, then you should always go into the backgtround of investors. However, this so called journalist happens to favor one political agenda over another. So approving projects for Oakland should be a political decision and not an economic decision. This is how Venezuela has become a disaster of a country. If Oakland is guided by this type of so called journalism propaganda, Oakland will follow Venezuela to the bottom of the economic junkpile.

Re: “Supporter of Controversial Israeli Settlements Would Benefit from Exclusive Oakland Public Land Deal

From your article"Portfolio Development Properties, a Walnut Creek-based company, over the terms of the propertys sale. Portfolio approached Oakland last November with an unsolicited proposal to build a drive-thru Starbucks on the empty lot at the intersection of Foothill Boulevard and 73rd Avenue. The city didnt seek proposals from other developers." 73rd and Bancroft is part of the old GM/Chevvy plant and probably cannot be used for housing due to contamination, but a Gentrification like a Starbuck's drive through can be, nascent gentrification, why Walnut Creek AND unsolicited, dont't we have Oakland real estate folk of the same of better caliber?? How about a Soul Food diner??
