Re: “East Bay Law School, Inc.

Will East Bay Law School reopen its door in Oakland, California? The law school was an opportunity for minority students with disabilities to learn law, otherwise many students who are disabled students might not have another opportunity at law school. The Department of Rehabilitation funded the students with disability to go to East Bay Law School. Now the doors are closed and we want funds to open the doors open again for the disabled to have an opportunity again to go to law school. Please invest in another school such as East Bay Law School in Oakland, CA

Re: “The Missouri Lounge

Extremely rude and uncivilized bartenders @ “The Missourie Lounge”, Berkeley, CA.

It was this Saturday, May 17th and there were two female bartenders serving that night. One is called “Nora” and other one I did not get her name but she has got tattoo all over. I was with few of my friends and I ordered some drinks. While the bartender(one with the tattoo) was getting the drinks ready, two of my other friends showed up so I requested her to add a drink to which she was already mad and acting rude for not ordering earlier. I do not know how on earth I could have done that. Well I asked if she could add yet another drink a “Corona”…….. and at this point she was so angry, looked me straight in the eye and started yelling …..
I was literally frozen for a moment trying to process my brain as to why would she be so outraged for adding two more drinks. I was very furious too to have been responded with such an attitude and extremely rude behavior only because I could not order all the drinks at the same time. So I told her if it is too much for her to get me the two drinks, I will pay for the drinks that I ordered earlier and will get the remaining two from the other bartender. But I could not believe what happened after that. As soon as she heard this, she poured all the drinks into the drain right in front of me, my friends and everyone at the bar without the slightest respect for anyone. And she started yelling again very furiously….
I just stood there shocked again not knowing how to react. I was with a big group of friends for one of friend’s birthday party so I sucked it up and tolerated this unacceptable behavior to not ruin the party and left the bar with no drinks. Things gotten worse later when I realized that she had been treating some of my other friends very rude as well and on yet another incident later at night, the other bartender(Nora) had the nerve to snatch drinks from one of my friends and threw her out of the bar to maybe show her support and appreciation to her bartender friend’s uncivilized behavior. All of us (about more than 30 of us) left the bar that night with much disappointment but mostly confused for having received such an ill treatment from both the bartenders.
Well I am sharing this incident online in the hope that the bar management will look into this matter and deal with such uncivilized behavior from their employees whose rude actions are dragging the reputation of the entire business down the drain. I will post this excellent review on any possible sites that matters for the better of “The Missourie Lounge”.

Re: “Mercy Retirement & Care Center

We investigated nine facilities within 10 min. of our home in the Laurel. All had to be full service facilities with Memory Care unit. We chose Mercy for my 85-yr old MIL. She had the typical reluctance to go to "an old folks' home" but it has worked out beautifully. Within a month she was telling everyone how happy she was to be at Mercy.

The units all have views (either Bay or Hills), the food is good (3 meals daily), the 7-acre campus is safe and well-landscaped, good activities, and best of all, Mercy rates VERY HIGH in state rankings for low turnover, high staff morale, and resident satisfaction. Note that they are associated with the Alma Via homes in Northern CA; Salem Lutheran/Oakland is being sold to provide Mercy with funds for an expansion of facilities.

Altho Mercy has many Catholic residents (Mass is said every day) they do not "push" religion on anyone; we'd consider it non-denominational. There is a private senior center space on-site where classes, concerts, and meetings are held for staff and residents.

Re: “Fist of Flour Doughjo

I loved my slice of pizza from the Doughjo. The dough was perfectly crispy on their thin crust and I've even had their mega thick slice- which caused a pizza paradigm shift. I crave it now. No other pizza will do anymore. And it is totally worth the drive to the Laurel.

Re: “Acme House of Music

Excellent service, with a quirky vibe. The owner is a genuine entrepreneur who loves both people and music. The guitar section is by far my favorite selection in the shop. Stop by for a good convo and good music. I strongly recommend it.

Re: “Venga Paella

What a great neighborhood restaurant for dinner. I brought a group of friends on a Thursday, first off there is ample parking, service was great and there is ample choices on the menu. After eating and drinking and we played Giant Jenga in the back room.

Highly recommend this place for large parties.

Re: “Blackhawk Museum

For anyone who enjoys automotive history, or the art of design and beauty, Bkackhawk will not disappoint. Showing some of the most breathtaking examples of pre-war elegance, technological advancements, and legendary racing, this museum has taken the exhibition of automobiles to another level. Each car stand on it's own against an empty black background, and expertly lit to accentuate it's unique shape and design. This Museum truly blurs the line between engineering design, and fine art. This is a must see for any, but for some, it will really be a life changing event.
