Oakland, Berkeley, And East Bay News, Events, Restaurants, Music, & Arts
Always a fun stop on the bike, been going since the kids were young. They liked running down the haunted apartments hallway above, at least that's what we told them. Good BBQ, and the bands always sound good.
The fries and the artichokes are excellent!
Fresh, homemade syrups; fresh juices; creative and knowledgable bartenders - it doesn't get any better than that.

The mouth-watering food, friendly service, and beautiful design all make this place a very welcome addition to the neighborhood.
Deviled Eggs and a Fourth Regiment cocktail while sitting at the bar is to die for
Beautiful lighting and lovely decor.
Neat kitschy place. Food is pretty good as well. Later in the evening the place gets eclectic, and a bit trashy. One quote I heard last night was, "It's like a drunken WalMart in here." Great beer selection, but only in bottles. Their drafts are just the usual suspects.
Only because it's newer than Beer Revolution.
Obviously. There's no place that's consistently better (or busier). The sandwiches are incredible, the cocktails always solid and everything is beyond reasonably priced. The outdoor patio is now a local hangout for a cross section of Oakland natives. Best bar by far.
One word: Frickles!!
Awesome food and atmosphere. The owner is incredibly accommodating and conscientious of the guest. Love the variety of food and multiple beers. The patio on a sunny day is THE place to be!
They ahve excellent food (now with REAL FRIES) and great staff members, not to mention a great drink selection and cool atmosphere. The people watching from the covered patio is great, too. And, ahem, trivia night.
Thank you East Bay Express for listing our band. I am Johnny Z and I thank you and all the East Bay music fans and everyone who comes to hear us for their support. The band works hard to do requests by all kinds of artists, and with just 3 guys it gets often tough, however we are fearlessly adventurous. We love to play and sing together and I have some very talented cats in the band. Thanks to all of them for making it happen and to the staff at the Gold Dust. I'd like to thank my agent, my publicist, my arranger, guitar tech and roadie, all of whom are me-ha ha. See you around campus. JZ
