Oakland, Berkeley, And East Bay News, Events, Restaurants, Music, & Arts
This address is wrong. The gallery is at 1027 3rd Street, Oakland, 94607
5 Stars because it is great for the street art aficionado and the street artists! Not only does the gallery display and sell some of the works of the up and coming street artists, they also sell materials for your bombing pleasure, from fat caps to your fave krink colors, they have the works. As if that isn't enough, if you are a graff buff but not so hot at hittin the streets, they supply the knowledge for a small price. And by they, I mean Nate1 and Novy. On top of alllll that, you can even get the crew at 1AM to hit up your not so cultured walls! So much more than just a gallery.........
Free monthly music and art events in an intimate setting. What more can you ask for?
the best pub for micro brews and IPA'S add the fact they have live music every night with no cover charge and you have a great place for nights out or just to drop by for a beer
The Grand Lake Theater is a gem, a historical beauty with comfortable seats, a large lobby, an amazingly generous owner with a social conscience who donates the theater for important benefits, events, to save the country, the world.
is there a contact for this venue? for bands on tour trying to find a show?
Absolutely <3 Mezzanine!
Seen the best shows there. Perfect size, you can get close to the stage if you want or just chill in the VIP.
Great staff and always a blast.
One of, if not THE, best mid sized concert venue in SF.
Simply put: I Love this place!
Such a great space! Big improvement over their Grand St. space, and the work continues to be some of the most interesting art at the Murmur. A must see venue.
Ashkenaz rocks. Reviews about one band, that reflect on the whole club, are problematic. And just to remind- Ashkenaz rocks.
cool spot - dope music - nice folks
Go to the Dougherty Valley Performing Arts Center webpage and tickets can be ordered online.
You may choose your own seats in the theatre, and tickets can be held for you in will call, or you may print them out at home and bring them with you.
Chabot is clean, modern and well run with pleasant and efficient staff. Their theater is a 360 degree overhead projection, the only one I know of.
They have a variety of events, ranging from parties for adults, with DJs, drinks, and stargazing, to regular showings of their movie selections. Not to mention the exhibits are hands on, and compare with the exploratorium. It is truly a treasure of the East Bay and people should know about it.
Nicest people behind that bar, weirdest people inside that bar, I always feel at home.
SAVE GILMAN! I'd like to play on that stage sometime before I die.
They have world-class sushi, and it's a jazz club too.
Friendly staff and any amazing house-made bread pudding.
New hours Thurs -Sat 12 to 6. Phone 510-701-4620
never been there
A beautiful palace from the distant past with pretty lousy movie bookings. Pedestrian. All the most commercial junk and every kid's movie that's out. Kids and teens must be a large part of their income because, boy do they cater to those demographics. We still have to go over to Berkeley to see the stuff we want to see. Good matinee pricing, parking garage is close and they validate for next visit. Popcorn prices obscenely high.
